Craiyon
Create images from text prompts, then edit, upscale, vectorize or animate selected results.
Text-to-image generation, preset creative formats, image editing, SVG/vector conversion, enhancement and animation cover simple creative concept work.
Accessible free generation and straightforward plan quotas are documented, but one Capterra review and no matching G2 review sample prevent independent usability confidence.
Published annual totals and reset policies are clear; invisible monthly checkout amounts and separate edit-credit spending limit predictability.
Vendor commercial-use rules and private paid output are explicit, but there is no public API and little independent enterprise/security or integration evidence.

About Craiyon
Craiyon is an accessible AI image generator for turning written prompts into illustrations, concept art, posters and social or personal creative imagery. The product provides themed creation options for anime, logos, coloring pages and other styles, plus editing tools for background removal, image enhancement, SVG conversion and animation. A limited free tier lets new users try text-to-image output but requires attribution for commercial use and does not provide the privacy and download benefits of paid subscriptions. Supporter, Professional and Ultra provide unlimited text-only image generation with 100, 300 and 1,200 editing credits per month, respectively. The official yearly pricing page lists $120, $240 and $840 a year, equal to $10, $20 and $70 per month when paid yearly; it does not render reliable month-to-month charges. Text-only generation on paid plans does not spend edit credits, but image-input work, animation and editing do. Credits renew monthly without rollover. Craiyon states its subscriptions are generally nonrefundable and has no public API. Capterra shows 5.0 from only one review; G2 search results for similarly named 'Crayon' brands are unrelated and have been excluded. The experience and output quality need actual prompt testing before editorial approval.
Best for
Students, casual creators, educators, indie marketers and small teams creating quick visual concepts, illustrations, coloring pages and occasional edited social assets.
Craiyon pros and cons
Pros
- Free access makes it easy to try basic text-to-image prompts before a purchase.
- Paid tiers advertise unlimited text-only generation without consuming the separate monthly edit-credit pool.
- Paid images are private and can be downloaded without the free-tier attribution/watermark requirements.
- Background removal, upscale, SVG conversion and animation expand useful outputs beyond simple still images.
- Yearly totals and 100/300/1,200 edit-credit allowances are documented directly on the vendor's pricing pages.
Cons
- −The live month-to-month USD dollar amounts do not render, so the exact recurring monthly price is not verified.
- −Free tier has limited generations, fewer model benefits and attribution requirements for commercial use.
- −Edit credits are spent on image-input and editing operations, and unused subscription credits expire at the next monthly reset.
- −Craiyon states paid subscription sales are nonrefundable, even though renewal cancellation is allowed.
- −Independent review evidence is scant: only one Capterra review was found, and G2's similarly named 'Crayon' profiles are for different products.
