About Mem.ai

Mem.ai, now marketed as Mem Agent through get.mem.ai, combines personal notes, captured documents, meeting voice records and a proactive task/project assistant. Instead of organizing every saved item into a rigid folder tree, users can create quick notes, clip web pages, send text or email into Mem, speak to Voice Mode and ask its agent to retrieve context or explain a topic from their own saved knowledge. The workspace indexes details and can identify open projects, commitments and related notes. Higher plans add Custom Routines that prepare scheduled briefings or reminders, and Connections to outside services such as Gmail, Slack or Todoist. The feature is a contextual assistant, not a guaranteed enterprise source of truth: extracted to-dos and synthesized answers need a user's review, especially when the original note is ambiguous. The November 2026 official public grid now includes seven main tiers, unlike older Mem 2.0 single-Pro pricing summaries. The Free tier permits 25 Messages to Mem, 25 new notes each month, tracking for 25 notes, 15 active tasks/projects and three Voice Mode hours. Plus costs $9/month for 50 messages and notes, 25 active tasks and ten voice hours. Pro costs $29/month for 100 messages and new notes, 50 active tasks, one Custom Routine, one Connection and 25 voice hours. Pro 2x is $49/month and doubles that core workload; Pro 5x is $99, Pro 10x $149 and Pro 20x $199 monthly. Pro 20x can add $50 monthly Extra Usage units that provide additional messages, notes, active task tracking, routines, connections and voice hours. Monthly activity resets each billing period, and different work activities can consume several allowances at once: emailing a note counts as a Message and can also consume a new-note slot. The official vendor says Deep Search and note templates are included on every tier. Public pricing displays monthly amounts; it does not publish a comparable annual price for these new tiers in the static grid, so annual equivalent values are intentionally not invented. The vendor says notes are encrypted using AES-256 at rest and TLS in transit but explicitly not end-to-end encrypted because the service processes notes to supply AI assistance. Users storing confidential client or clinical data should make a deliberate privacy review. The App Store listing says Mac, Windows, iPhone and web availability, with offline iPhone capture that syncs later; it does not establish a supported Android app. The exact Mem G2 listing reports a low 2.3/5 from only three reviews (Oct 17, 2026), while the US iOS App Store shows 4.4/5 across 129 ratings. These are different audiences and tiny/medium samples; neither proves current Mem Agent feature reliability. Mem's terms state auto-renewal and generally non-refundable fees, with case-by-case exceptions. Toollers has not imported notes, tested routines, audited data access or evaluated recall accuracy.

Best for

Founders, consultants, executives, researchers and creators who capture many fragmented notes and want AI recall with task follow-up.

Mem.ai pros and cons

Pros

  • Fast capture from notes, voice, links and shared content reduces manual tagging.
  • AI search and context answers are designed to work across saved notes and meetings.
  • Automatic task and project detection can surface follow-ups missed in a note archive.
  • Free and $9 Plus levels provide accessible ways to test the new agent workflow.
  • Pro Custom Routines and connected apps support proactive briefings and task checks.
  • The pricing grid details exact allowances for several separate types of activity.
  • Markdown export helps users preserve access to note content outside Mem.

Cons

  • −Several quotas apply simultaneously; messages, notes, task tracking and voice usage are not interchangeable.
  • −Routine automation and outside connections require $29 Pro or higher.
  • −Large research/meeting workloads can push the subscription up to $99, $149 or $199 monthly.
  • −Mem has no end-to-end encryption because its AI needs access to note contents.
  • −AI task detection and generated summaries require human correction on important commitments.
  • −Existing G2 sample is only three users and cannot support a broad satisfaction inference.
  • −Current public plan page does not give verified annual equivalents for new tiers.
