M-Files vs Laserfiche comparison cover

M-Files and Laserfiche are enterprise document-management and content-services platforms built for organizations that need more than file storage. Both can control versions, apply permissions, automate document-heavy workflows, support auditability, integrate with Microsoft 365 and business systems, use AI to classify and retrieve information, and operate in regulated environments. Their biggest difference is architecture.

M-Files is metadata-first and context-first. Instead of forcing users to remember where a document was filed, M-Files organizes information around what the document is and what it relates to—customer, project, contract, case, asset, employee, status, owner, document type, or another business object. That context can drive search, permissions, workflows, lifecycle, Microsoft 365 collaboration and Aino AI.

Laserfiche is repository- and process-oriented. Documents live inside governed repositories, can be organized into folders and records structures, and move through forms, automated processes, AI-assisted capture, metadata, audit controls, retention schedules and business workflows. It is particularly strong when an organization needs formal records management, public-facing forms, low-code workflow automation, secure repositories and high-volume process standardization.

Pricing also differs sharply. M-Files currently publishes Essentials at €65 per seat per month, while Enterprise is custom-priced based on scale, governance, workflow complexity, external collaboration and AI usage. Laserfiche Professional costs $73 per user per month billed annually with a five-user minimum. Business is $93 with a 25-user minimum, and Business+ is $42 with a 500-user minimum. The lower Business+ per-user number is therefore an enterprise-volume rate, not a cheap small-team plan.

Quick verdict

The biggest difference: metadata-first versus repository-first

M-Files' central idea is that users should not have to remember a file location. A contract can be classified as a contract and linked to a client, project, jurisdiction, owner, renewal date and status. The same document can then appear in a client view, project view, contracts-expiring-this-quarter view and legal-review queue without creating duplicates.

That model is powerful because metadata is not just for search. It can determine permissions, trigger workflow, control lifecycle and give Aino AI the context needed to answer questions or classify documents.

Laserfiche is more traditional in information architecture, but that is not necessarily a weakness. Repositories, folders, metadata templates, records series and formal retention structures are familiar to records managers, government organizations, universities, financial institutions and departments that need predictable content governance.

Laserfiche's design becomes particularly strong when content is tied to a repeatable business process: submit a public form, extract data, create a record, route tasks, collect approvals, write values to another application, log the event, retain the record and eventually dispose of it under policy.

Choose M-Files when information relationships are complicated and users should browse by context. Choose Laserfiche when process structure and records control are the central design requirements.

Pricing: M-Files is simpler at entry; Laserfiche is more explicit across Cloud tiers

M-Files Essentials is currently listed at €65 per seat per month. The vendor says subscriptions are typically billed annually. Essentials includes the context-first document-management foundation, Microsoft 365-native experiences, Aino AI, graphical workflows, security/access controls, version/lifecycle management, auditability and included Aino usage capacity.

M-Files Enterprise is quote-based. The vendor says Enterprise pricing may reflect user count, usage patterns, governance/compliance requirements, workflow complexity, external collaboration, AI utilization and total document/object volume.

Laserfiche publishes numeric pricing for its main Cloud tiers. Professional is $73 per user per month billed annually, or $875 per user per year, and requires at least five users. Business is $93 per user per month, or $1,115 annually, and requires at least 25 users. Business+ is $42 per user per month, or $500 annually, but requires at least 500 users.

Minimum commitments change the real comparison. The minimum annual license arithmetic is about $4,375 for Laserfiche Professional, $27,875 for Business and $250,000 for Business+ before professional services, implementation, add-ons, taxes or other costs.

M-Files Essentials does not show an equivalent minimum-user requirement on the public page, but implementation and Enterprise requirements can still change total cost substantially. A serious comparison should request an M-Files Essentials/Enterprise quote and Laserfiche Professional/Business quote for the same users, external participants, integrations, AI usage, content volume and professional services.

M-Files Essentials vs Laserfiche Professional

This is the closest public entry-tier comparison. M-Files Essentials is €65 per seat per month. Laserfiche Professional is $73 per user per month billed annually with a five-user minimum.

M-Files Essentials is stronger when the organization wants a context-first architecture immediately. Microsoft 365-native work, Aino AI, workflows, lifecycle management, version control, access controls and auditability are already part of the package.

Laserfiche Professional is stronger when the organization wants a broader process-automation toolkit. It includes 100 GB of storage per user, one repository, 1,000 AI Units per year, 50,000 API calls per month, custom forms, business-process automation, process reporting/analytics, AI Agents, Smart Fields-style extraction/classification, Microsoft 365 collaboration, granular permissions and audit logging.

The choice depends on what the first project is. If it is “replace the folder structure and connect documents to customers/projects,” M-Files is more natural. If it is “digitize this form-and-approval process and retain every record,” Laserfiche Professional is more natural.

M-Files Enterprise vs Laserfiche Business

Laserfiche Business costs $93 per user per month billed annually and requires 25 users. It expands from one to three repositories, raises AI Units from 1,000 to 50,000 per year and API calls from 50,000 to 150,000 per month, and adds records lifecycle management, SSO/MFA/SCIM provisioning, automated deprovisioning and public-facing hosted content portals.

Advanced Audit Trail and Records Management are included at Business, making this the more appropriate Laserfiche tier for regulated records-management comparisons.

M-Files Enterprise uses custom pricing and is also the tier for regulated or complex deployments. It adds Aino agents, federated authentication, enterprise key management, custom versioning schemes, parallel workflows controlling releases, extended audit logging, controlled rendering/printing/watermarking, no-code document automation and secure external collaboration.

Laserfiche Business has the stronger explicit records-management and public-process package. M-Files Enterprise has the stronger contextual governance and dynamic document-lifecycle architecture. Organizations in compliance-heavy industries should proof-test both with real retention rules, legal/audit scenarios and permission changes.

Business+ is not a cheap Laserfiche tier

Laserfiche Business+ has the lowest advertised per-user price at $42 per month billed annually, but it starts at 500 users. That means the minimum annual license value is roughly $250,000 before implementation and services.

The tier includes 30 TB of storage per account, three repositories, 250,000 AI Units per year, 500,000 API calls per month, records lifecycle management, advanced identity/security, public portals, enterprise security, sandbox capability, advanced audit trail, near-real-time repository replication and multi-region failover/disaster-recovery features.

Business+ therefore targets enterprise-wide, business-critical deployments. It should be compared with a large custom M-Files Enterprise contract, not with €65 Essentials.

Metadata and contextual discovery: M-Files has the edge

M-Files' metadata architecture is the product's defining advantage. Documents can be related to business entities and surfaced through dynamic views. The user can search “all approved contracts for Customer X expiring this year” without knowing whether someone originally saved the file in Legal, Sales or a project folder.

Permissions can also adapt based on metadata. If a document changes from Draft to Approved or moves from one project to another, access rules and workflow can respond automatically.

Laserfiche supports metadata templates, searchable fields, advanced search and AI-assisted tagging/classification. It is strong for structured metadata inside a repository. The difference is that Laserfiche still retains a more explicit repository/folder/records architecture, while M-Files tries to make context itself the primary navigation model.

For organizations whose biggest pain is duplicate documents and “Where is the latest version?”, M-Files often provides the more transformational model.

Forms and public intake: Laserfiche wins

Custom forms are a core Laserfiche Professional capability. Organizations can publish forms, validate input, trigger processes, route tasks, collect documents, populate metadata and produce auditable records.

Laserfiche also supports public form submissions and mobile/offline form scenarios depending on plan/configuration. Business adds public-facing hosted content portals, while Participant Users can extend controlled access to forms, workflows and documents without provisioning every outside stakeholder as a full user.

In September 2026, Laserfiche added AI-assisted form fill so users can upload a document and have Laserfiche AI populate relevant form fields automatically. The October 2026 update expanded visual understanding, including optical mark recognition, signature detection, image interpretation, logo/watermark text and difficult handwriting.

M-Files can participate in form-driven processes through integrations and workflow automation, but native forms/public intake are not as central to the product proposition. If citizen/customer/supplier intake is central, Laserfiche has a clear advantage.

Document capture and extraction: Laserfiche is stronger

Laserfiche AI Smart Fields can extract, classify and tag information from documents using natural-language configuration. The 2026 releases significantly expand visual document understanding.

This makes Laserfiche attractive when documents arrive in inconsistent formats and need to become structured data before entering a workflow. Common examples include applications, invoices, forms, claims, permits, case files and scanned records.

M-Files Aino and Enterprise Aino agents can also classify documents and extract metadata automatically. That is valuable because extracted metadata becomes the foundation for contextual views and lifecycle controls.

The distinction is emphasis. Laserfiche is the stronger capture/process platform. M-Files is the stronger metadata/context platform after the information enters the governed system.

Workflow automation: Laserfiche is stronger for standardized BPM

Laserfiche is built heavily around low-code business-process automation. Professional already includes business-process automation, custom forms, process analytics and enterprise integration. Workflows can route tasks, branch based on conditions, call external systems, update metadata, send notifications and manage document processes.

That is particularly valuable in government, higher education, financial services, HR, procurement and administrative operations where the business process can be explicitly modeled.

M-Files Essentials includes graphical workflows, and its metadata/lifecycle model can create elegant dynamic automations. A contract entering Approved state can automatically trigger permissions, a publication step or review timer without needing the user to move it to another folder.

M-Files Enterprise adds no-code document automation and Aino agents. M-Files workflows are especially powerful when process state is inseparable from document context.

Laserfiche has the edge when the workflow resembles BPM and public forms. M-Files has the edge when workflow is a natural extension of metadata and document lifecycle.

Records management: Laserfiche has the stronger formal package

Laserfiche Business and Business+ include Records Lifecycle Management. Records managers can define file plans, record series, retention schedules, cutoff instructions, holds, reviews, transfer and disposition rules.

The Records Management interface tracks lifecycle status and disposition eligibility, while reporting can surface records due for cutoff, disposition or vital-record review. Advanced Audit Trail strengthens governance evidence.

Laserfiche also offers Vault as an add-on for secure non-rewritable WORM preservation of business-critical records.

M-Files provides strong lifecycle management, auditability and compliance in Essentials, while Enterprise adds advanced version control, extended audits, stronger security and governance. Its model is more metadata/lifecycle-based than classical records-series/file-plan administration.

If your records team explicitly requires formal retention schedules, legal holds, disposition workflows and file-plan-style administration, Laserfiche is likely the better fit. If governance should happen dynamically through metadata and lifecycle across active business documents, M-Files may be more flexible.

Version control and controlled documents

M-Files Essentials includes version and lifecycle management. Enterprise adds custom versioning schemes and parallel workflows that can control changes, releases and document versions.

This is especially valuable in engineering, quality, scientific and regulated environments where controlled documents need formal Draft, Review, Approved and Released behavior.

Laserfiche includes version control across the Cloud tiers and stores prior versions for reference or rollback. It can combine versioning with workflow and records controls.

M-Files has the advantage when version state is deeply tied to metadata, object relationships and dynamic permissions. Laserfiche has the advantage when versions are part of a broader repository/process/records-management system.

AI: M-Files Aino vs Laserfiche AI

M-Files Essentials already includes trusted AI from M-Files Aino. Current vendor documentation positions Aino for finding information, summarizing content and automatically classifying documents in business context. Aino usage capacity is included in both Essentials and Enterprise.

Enterprise expands Aino with higher capacity, advanced capabilities and purpose-built Aino agents that can extract metadata and classify documents automatically.

Laserfiche Professional includes 1,000 AI Units per year. Business includes 50,000, and Business+ includes 250,000. AI features include Agents, Smart Fields, Smart Chat, document summarization, extraction/classification/tags and audio/video transcription.

Laserfiche AI Agents can act on content through natural language. The May 2026 release introduced agents that can move, rename and organize documents after presenting a plan for approval. September added broader multi-step planning and more AI-assisted form fill.

M-Files AI is strongest when context and metadata relationships should govern the answer. Laserfiche AI is strongest when AI should automate actions, extraction, forms and repository operations. Both are moving beyond passive chat.

AI economics

M-Files does not publish a universal numeric Aino overage table on the current Essentials/Enterprise page. Essentials includes Aino usage capacity, while Enterprise pricing can reflect AI volume. Organizations planning heavy AI use should request expected Aino usage assumptions in the quote.

Laserfiche is more explicit about included AI Units by plan: 1,000 on Professional, 50,000 on Business and 250,000 on Business+. That makes it easier to compare allowances, but buyers still need to understand which AI actions consume how many units.

Do not compare “AI included” as a yes/no checkbox. Run the same month of extraction, summarization, agent and search workloads and ask each vendor to price the expected consumption.

Microsoft 365: both are strong, M-Files remains more Microsoft-centric

Laserfiche Professional and higher list native Microsoft 365 collaboration. Users can work with Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint integrations, and Laserfiche also supports SharePoint Online integration.

The Teams integration can save files into Laserfiche so they inherit repository governance and records policies, while workflow can trigger when Teams content is stored in a specific Laserfiche location.

M-Files makes Microsoft 365-native work a core architectural pillar rather than one integration category. Essentials already includes native Microsoft 365 experiences, and M-Files emphasizes working in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams and SharePoint with metadata and governance supplied by M-Files.

M-Files also positions governed metadata-rich content as a better grounding layer for Microsoft Copilot and aligns with Microsoft security/compliance tooling.

If the company wants document governance to feel embedded inside Microsoft 365, M-Files has the advantage. If Microsoft integration is one requirement among forms, records, repositories and process automation, Laserfiche is highly capable.

External collaboration

M-Files Enterprise includes secure external collaboration as an Enterprise capability, with Hubshare available for client and partner collaboration. The vendor notes that Hubshare is included in Enterprise but licensed separately according to the scale and level of external collaboration.

Laserfiche can share files directly with external users through secure links. Business and Business+ also include public-facing hosted content portals. Participant Users are an add-on option for controlled access to forms, workflows and documents without provisioning every external stakeholder as a full user.

Both can support external processes, but their strengths differ. M-Files is strong for ongoing client/project collaboration around governed context. Laserfiche is strong for public forms, portals and process participation.

E-signatures

M-Files provides integrations with Adobe Acrobat Sign, DocuSign and other e-signature providers. Workflows can move a controlled document through drafting, approval, signature and final lifecycle state.

Laserfiche also integrates directly with DocuSign. Users can send documents from the repository for signature, and status information from DocuSign can be written back into Laserfiche metadata. Signed documents can return to the repository as new versions of the original rather than uncontrolled duplicates.

Neither base price should be assumed to include unlimited third-party signature transactions. Confirm DocuSign/Adobe licensing and integration terms as part of total cost.

Integrations and APIs

M-Files integrates with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, Salesforce, SAP, Dynamics, Google Workspace, Adobe and other platforms. Its repository-agnostic strategy can connect existing sources rather than requiring every document to be physically migrated before users gain contextual access.

Laserfiche Professional includes 50,000 API calls per month, Business 150,000 and Business+ 500,000. Laserfiche supports integrations through APIs, webhooks, Boomi, DocuSign, SAP, Esri ArcGIS, Salesforce, Microsoft 365 and other enterprise systems.

API allowances are an important difference for automation-heavy deployments. A Laserfiche integration architecture should be modeled against the included monthly calls, while M-Files Enterprise pricing can reflect integration and automation complexity through the custom contract.

Repositories and scaling

Laserfiche Professional includes one repository. Business and Business+ include three. That structure is useful when departments, legal entities or governance domains need deliberate repository boundaries.

M-Files tends to reduce the importance of repository/folder boundaries by using metadata and dynamic views. Users can see context across connected sources and systems without necessarily migrating everything into one physical location.

This is one of the deepest architectural differences. Laserfiche scales by governing repositories, records structures, processes and access. M-Files scales by building reusable metadata and relationships that surface the same information in multiple contexts.

Storage

Laserfiche Professional and Business currently include 100 GB of storage per user. Business+ includes 30 TB per account. This makes storage capacity explicit in the plan.

M-Files' public Essentials price does not present one universal per-seat storage figure in the same way. M-Files can also work with Microsoft 365 storage, Premium Cloud and other deployment architectures, so storage economics depend on deployment and contract.

Organizations with very large image/scanned-document archives should compare storage growth, backup, replication, egress, retention and migration—not only seat prices.

Security and compliance

Laserfiche's current pricing page lists SOC 2 Type 2+, HIPAA and ISO 27001-certified Cloud security on Professional and higher, along with TLS in transit, AES-256 encryption at rest, granular permissions, role-based access controls, audit logging and protection against unauthorized AI bots.

Business adds SSO, MFA, SCIM provisioning and automated deprovisioning. Business+ adds deeper enterprise security, repository replication, disaster-recovery capabilities and additional security monitoring.

M-Files Essentials includes security/access controls and auditability. Enterprise adds federated identity, enterprise key management, extended audit logs, controlled rendering/printing/watermarking and advanced version governance.

M-Files publicly documents ISO/IEC 27001:2022 and SOC 2/ISAE 3000 assurance through its compliance center.

Both are credible for regulated environments, but Laserfiche gives buyers a more explicit tier map for records and cloud-security capabilities, while M-Files Enterprise uses a custom governance package.

Public-sector and records-heavy organizations: Laserfiche usually wins

Laserfiche is particularly well suited to government, education and records-heavy organizations because public forms, records lifecycle management, hosted portals, advanced audit trails, retention schedules, legal holds and repository governance are all explicit product capabilities.

Business+ also targets enterprise and public-sector security requirements at large scale, including CJIS-oriented controls and GovRAMP verification references on the current pricing page.

M-Files can meet public-sector and regulated requirements, but its strongest differentiator is not traditional records administration. It is more compelling where knowledge work and metadata relationships dominate the problem.

Professional services and project-centric organizations: M-Files usually wins

A consulting, engineering, wealth-management or scientific organization often needs one document to be visible in many contexts: client, project, engagement, discipline, jurisdiction, owner, document class and lifecycle stage.

M-Files was designed around that problem. Metadata-driven views reduce duplicated folder trees, Microsoft 365-native collaboration keeps users in familiar tools, and Aino can answer questions against governed contextual content.

Laserfiche can absolutely manage project documents, but its strengths are more obvious when those documents move through forms, approvals, retention and standardized process.

Process automation and administrative operations: Laserfiche usually wins

Organizations digitizing permit applications, HR requests, procurement forms, student/admin processes, claims, finance workflows and other structured business processes should give Laserfiche extra weight.

Custom forms, AI-assisted field fill, workflow, reporting, public intake, integrations and records control create a strong end-to-end process platform without requiring many separate tools.

M-Files can automate document workflows effectively, but it is less form/BPM-centric and more information-lifecycle-centric.

Contract and controlled-document environments: depends on the operating model

M-Files is often stronger when contracts and controlled documents must be connected to multiple business entities and permissions should change dynamically with lifecycle state.

Laserfiche is often stronger when the organization needs a highly standardized contract intake/approval/signature/retention process or formal records management after execution.

Both should be tested against real contract metadata, versioning, legal holds, e-signature and renewal workflows before selection.

Migration from shared drives

M-Files migration should not simply recreate the existing folder tree. The real value appears when the organization identifies metadata classes, relationships and business objects that let the same content surface dynamically.

Laserfiche migration can preserve more recognizable repository/folder structures while layering metadata templates, workflows, retention and search on top. That can reduce the conceptual change for records-focused departments.

Organizations with poor existing information hygiene should not treat migration as file copying. Duplicate removal, permissions, retention, ownership, version cleanup, metadata mapping and archive rules often consume more project effort than software installation.

Ease of adoption

M-Files can have a steeper conceptual learning curve because users must shift from “where did I save it?” to “what is it and what is it related to?” Once that model is accepted, search and dynamic views can dramatically simplify daily work.

Laserfiche can feel more familiar to users accustomed to repositories and folders. Forms and task-driven processes also provide clear user experiences: complete this form, approve this task, search this repository.

The configuration side can still be complex. Sophisticated Laserfiche workflows and records structures require expertise, just as sophisticated M-Files metadata taxonomies and lifecycle designs require expertise.

M-Files limitations

Pros

  • M-Files strengths: public Essentials pricing at €65/seat/month
  • metadata/context-first architecture
  • native Microsoft 365 experiences
  • Aino AI included
  • workflow, lifecycle and auditability in Essentials
  • Enterprise adds advanced security, external collaboration, Aino agents, no-code automation and advanced version control
  • cloud/on-prem/hybrid flexibility.

Cons

  • M-Files limitations: metadata-first work has a learning curve
  • implementation quality depends heavily on taxonomy and business-object design
  • Enterprise pricing is custom
  • advanced governance/AI/external collaboration move to Enterprise
  • Hubshare external collaboration has separate licensing considerations
  • classic forms/records-management administration is less central than Laserfiche.

The biggest M-Files risk is buying metadata-driven technology without redesigning information architecture. If teams simply reproduce a shared-drive folder tree and barely use metadata, the organization pays for M-Files' strongest capability without receiving the benefit.

Laserfiche limitations

Pros

  • Laserfiche strengths: transparent Professional/Business/Business+ prices
  • custom forms
  • strong low-code process automation
  • formal records lifecycle management
  • AI Agents, Smart Fields, Smart Chat and extraction
  • public portals
  • high API allowances
  • Microsoft 365 collaboration
  • Cloud and self-hosted deployment
  • strong security/compliance packaging.

Cons

  • Laserfiche limitations: minimum seat commitments make Business/Business+ expensive
  • Business+ requires 500 users
  • professional services and implementation are excluded from list pricing
  • repository/folder architecture can require more structure than metadata-first systems
  • sophisticated workflow/records designs require expertise
  • AI usage is capacity-metered by AI Units.

The biggest Laserfiche risk is focusing on the published per-user number while ignoring minimum seats and implementation. Business+ looks inexpensive at $42 per user, but its 500-user minimum creates a very large minimum contract. Model the complete program, not the seat sticker.

Which should you choose?

Choose M-Files if your organization is trying to eliminate folder dependence and make information discoverable by business context. It is particularly strong for Microsoft 365-centric professional services, engineering, consulting, wealth management, scientific and regulated knowledge work where documents need to appear in several contextual views and permissions/lifecycle should respond to metadata. Essentials establishes the core model; Enterprise is the tier for larger compliance, external collaboration and advanced AI/automation requirements. See the M-Files review, M-Files pricing guide, and M-Files alternatives.

Choose Laserfiche if your organization needs a structured enterprise content and process platform. Public forms, AI-assisted extraction, workflow automation, records retention, legal holds, hosted portals, repositories, process analytics and enterprise integrations make it especially strong for government, education, financial services, HR, operations and records-heavy organizations. Professional is the accessible automation tier; Business is the more appropriate governance/records tier; Business+ is an enterprise-scale package. See the Laserfiche review, Laserfiche pricing guide, and Laserfiche alternatives.

If the choice remains close, run one proof of concept around the architectural difference. Give both platforms one messy shared-drive folder, one project with the same documents needed in three different business contexts, one public intake form, one approval workflow, one formal retention/legal-hold scenario, one Microsoft 365 collaboration task and five AI questions. Measure how much configuration each system needs and how naturally users find information without training. The result will reveal whether your organization benefits more from metadata-first context or repository/process-first governance.

How we compared M-Files and Laserfiche

Testing methodology

This is a research-based comparison, not a hands-on ECM benchmark. Toollers reviewed current official M-Files and Laserfiche pricing, product, AI, records-management, integration and deployment documentation on October 17, 2026. We compared pricing/minimum seats, metadata/repository architecture, workflows, forms, capture/extraction, records lifecycle, AI, Microsoft 365, external collaboration, e-signatures, APIs, storage, deployment, security and governance. We did not migrate a production repository, benchmark extraction accuracy, build the same enterprise workflow, conduct a compliance audit, negotiate Enterprise discounts or validate implementation-services quotes. Total cost and usability depend heavily on minimum users, implementation, content volume, taxonomy, records policy, AI/API usage, storage, integrations, external participants and professional services.

Minimum seats, implementation, AI, storage and governance requirements make total cost more important than the headline per-user price.
Which is better for records management, M-Files or Laserfiche?
Laserfiche has the stronger formal records-management package. Business and Business+ include Records Lifecycle Management with retention schedules, record series, cutoff/disposition processes, legal holds and advanced audit options. M-Files provides strong lifecycle governance and auditability, especially on Enterprise, but its model is more metadata/context-driven than classical records administration.
Which is better for Microsoft 365, M-Files or Laserfiche?
M-Files generally has the advantage because Microsoft 365-native work is a central part of its architecture and product positioning. Laserfiche also provides native Microsoft 365 collaboration and integrations with Teams, Outlook and Office, so it remains a strong option when Microsoft integration is one requirement among broader forms, records and process-automation needs.
Which has better AI, M-Files Aino or Laserfiche AI?
M-Files Aino is stronger when AI should reason over metadata, business relationships and contextual document views. Laserfiche AI is stronger when AI should extract data, populate forms, classify/tag content, summarize documents and take repository actions through AI Agents. The better choice depends on whether your AI strategy is context/discovery-first or capture/process-first.
