AWeber vs Benchmark comparison cover

AWeber and Benchmark are close competitors for creators, newsletters, local businesses, nonprofits and small marketing teams that want email campaigns without the complexity of a full CRM or enterprise marketing suite. Both provide permanent free access, drag-and-drop email creation, signup forms, landing-page or hosted form experiences, segmentation, automation, reporting, AI assistance and integrations.

The difference is packaging. AWeber gives the more creator-oriented experience, a slightly more generous Free send allowance, much broader integration coverage and a clearer progression from simple autoresponders to Plus with unlimited lists, landing pages, automations, custom segments and users. Benchmark gives the simpler pricing architecture: Free, Pro and Enterprise, with Pro starting at $19 per month or $16 per month equivalent annually, and its current pricing page says core platform features are available across Free and Pro while limits change around contacts, sends, users, domains, API keys, AI credits, branding and list verification.

Entry pricing favors AWeber. AWeber Free supports up to 500 subscribers and 3,000 monthly sends. AWeber Lite starts at $15 per month or $150 per year for up to 500 subscribers and 5,000 monthly sends. Benchmark Free supports up to 500 contacts and 2,500 sends per month, while Benchmark Pro starts at $19 monthly or $16 monthly equivalent annually and begins at 1,000 contacts with sends up to ten times the contact limit.

The strongest reason to choose Benchmark is simplicity. The live pricing page is unusually straightforward, Pro includes the current email editor, forms, contact management, personalization, reporting, API and Zapier connectivity, and Benchmark says it will notify users before a contact-limit upgrade rather than automatically moving the account. The strongest reason to choose AWeber is breadth around the creator workflow: landing pages, ecommerce, web push, AI signup-form generation, hundreds of integrations and a Plus plan that removes most Lite restrictions.

Quick verdict

Quick verdict

Choose AWeber if you are a creator, newsletter operator, coach or small business that values a generous permanent Free plan, broad integrations, landing pages, built-in ecommerce, web push, AI signup forms and a clear Plus upgrade that removes most Lite caps. Choose Benchmark if your priority is straightforward email marketing with simple pricing, an easy editor, forms, contact management, AI-assisted content, API/Zapier connectivity and less complicated paid-plan packaging. AWeber has the broader surrounding ecosystem; Benchmark is easier to understand as a pure email campaign platform.

Key takeaways

  • AWeber Free currently supports up to 500 subscribers and 3,000 email sends per month; Benchmark Free supports up to 500 contacts and 2,500 sends per month.
  • AWeber Lite starts at $15/month or $150/year for 500 subscribers and 5,000 sends; Benchmark Pro starts at $19/month or $16/month equivalent annually and begins at 1,000 contacts with sends up to 10× the contact limit.
  • AWeber Plus starts at $30/month or $240/year and removes major Lite limits around lists, landing pages, automations, segments and users.
  • AWeber's current live pricing page now directs 100,000+ subscriber accounts to sales rather than presenting the older $899 Unlimited plan as a standard public tier.
  • Benchmark's current pricing page says every plan has access to the platform's core feature set, with plan differences centered on contacts, sends, users, domains, API keys, AI credits, branding and list verification.
  • Benchmark Free includes 150 AI credits/month; Pro includes 1,000.
  • AWeber has the stronger integration ecosystem and currently markets hundreds of integrations plus API/automation-platform connectivity.
  • Benchmark's live pricing page says it will notify customers and let them choose whether to upgrade when they exceed contact limits; AWeber's paid tiers can automatically move to the next subscriber tier when sending capacity is exhausted.

Best reason to buyCreator ecosystem and integration breadthSimplicity and transparent plan mechanics

The biggest difference: creator ecosystem versus simple email operations

AWeber is still fundamentally an email-marketing platform, but its product has expanded around the workflow of a creator or small business owner. A user can build a landing page, collect subscribers, send newsletters, create automations, sell a product through Stripe, tag buyers, trigger follow-up campaigns, send web push notifications and connect hundreds of outside tools.

Benchmark is more focused. The current platform emphasizes getting a contact database into the system, building good-looking emails, collecting subscribers through forms, segmenting the audience, reporting on engagement and connecting outside systems through API or Zapier.

That difference makes AWeber more attractive when email is one part of a creator-business stack. It makes Benchmark more attractive when the organization wants email marketing to remain operationally simple rather than becoming a large marketing ecosystem.

Free plans: AWeber is slightly more generous

AWeber Free currently gives lifetime access for up to 500 subscribers and 3,000 email sends per month. The account includes one list profile and one workflow automation.

Benchmark Free also supports up to 500 contacts but currently limits the account to 2,500 email sends per month. The live pricing page lists one user, one domain, two API keys and 150 AI credits per month.

Both are genuine permanent free tiers rather than time-limited trials.

AWeber therefore wins on raw monthly sending by 500 messages. For a creator sending one weekly newsletter to 500 subscribers, around 2,000 sends per month fits on either plan. Add several automated messages and AWeber's extra capacity becomes useful.

Benchmark's advantage is that the current pricing page explicitly says all plans have access to the platform's feature set, with quantitative limits changing by plan. However, older 2026 Benchmark documentation conflicts on some Free-plan automation and landing-page entitlements, so a buyer relying on a specific Free advanced feature should confirm it inside the live workspace before migrating.

AWeber Lite starts at $15 per month for up to 500 subscribers and 5,000 monthly sends. Annual billing is $150 per year, an exact equivalent of $12.50 per month.

Benchmark Pro starts at $19 per month or $16 per month equivalent on annual billing. Unlike AWeber Lite's 500-subscriber entry, Benchmark Pro begins at 1,000 contacts.

That distinction matters. AWeber is cheaper if your list is still under 500. Benchmark gives double the entry contact capacity on its first paid tier.

Benchmark Pro's send allowance is ten times the contact limit. At the 1,000-contact entry tier, that means up to 10,000 sends per month.

So a 700-contact business cannot compare $15 AWeber Lite with $19 Benchmark Pro on price alone. It should compare the actual AWeber 1,000-subscriber tier, which is currently $25 per month or $250 annually, against Benchmark's 1,000-contact Pro entry. At that list size, Benchmark can become cheaper.

At 1,000 contacts, Benchmark becomes more competitive

AWeber Lite currently costs $25 per month or $250 per year at the 1,000-subscriber tier and includes 10,000 monthly sends.

Benchmark Pro's entry tier is also 1,000 contacts with up to 10,000 monthly sends, but the current published entry price is $19 monthly or $16 annual-equivalent.

That is one of the most important findings in this comparison. AWeber wins on the first 500 contacts. Benchmark can win on paid value once the audience exceeds AWeber's smallest tier, provided Benchmark's feature set meets the workflow.

A buyer should therefore forecast twelve months ahead. A creator at 350 subscribers today may prefer AWeber Free or Lite. If the same list is likely to reach 1,000 quickly, Benchmark's Pro economics become more attractive.

AWeber Lite: clear limitations

AWeber Lite is intentionally constrained. Current pricing lists one email list, three landing pages, three email automations, three users and one custom segment.

It includes up to ten times the subscriber tier in monthly sends. At 500 subscribers that is 5,000 emails, at 1,000 it is 10,000, and at 2,500 it is 25,000.

Lite also keeps AWeber branding and does not include the strongest Plus-level reporting and landing-page features.

This makes Lite a good creator plan but a poor choice for a small marketing team that already knows it needs several lead magnets, audience groups and lifecycle automations.

Benchmark Pro can be simpler in that scenario because the plan does not expose the same headline caps on lists and automation counts.

AWeber Plus: the strongest reason to stay with AWeber

AWeber Plus starts at $30 per month or $240 annually for up to 500 subscribers.

Plus removes most of the limitations that make Lite feel restrictive. Current pricing lists unlimited email lists, unlimited landing pages, unlimited email automations, unlimited custom segments and unlimited users.

It also increases the send allowance to twelve times subscriber volume and adds advanced analytics, advanced landing-page capabilities, priority support, AWeber branding removal and lower AWeber ecommerce transaction fees.

If an organization likes AWeber's integrations, support and creator workflow but has outgrown Lite, Plus is the correct plan to compare with Benchmark Pro or Benchmark Enterprise.

AWeber's old Unlimited plan should not drive a new 2026 comparison

Some recent Toollers research and older indexed AWeber material referenced an AWeber Unlimited plan at $899 per month.

On October 17, 2026, AWeber's live pricing page no longer presents Unlimited as a standard public plan. It shows Lite and Plus pricing tables through 150,000 subscribers and separately tells 100,000+ subscriber organizations to contact sales.

AWeber's current pricing documentation page also describes Free, Lite and Plus rather than a public Unlimited plan.

For that reason, this article does not use $899 as the current high-volume standard price. Large senders should request a fresh AWeber quote and document subscriber capacity, send allowance, support and any negotiated terms.

Benchmark Pro: fewer pricing layers

Benchmark has a simpler standard catalog: Free, Pro and Enterprise.

Pro covers 1,000 through 100,000 contacts, with price increasing by selected contact tier. The public headline starts at $19 monthly or $16 annual-equivalent.

The monthly sending allowance is ten times the selected contact limit.

Pro includes one user. Additional users cost $15 per month each, so collaboration can materially change the bill even when contact count stays stable.

Pro also raises domain allowance to ten, API keys to ten, AI credits to 1,000 per month, removes Benchmark branding and includes one list verification up to the plan size.

Benchmark's no-auto-upgrade policy is buyer-friendly

Benchmark's current pricing FAQ says that when the account exceeds the contact limit, Benchmark will notify the customer and give them the option to upgrade rather than silently auto-upgrading the account.

AWeber takes a different approach with sending limits. Its current documentation says that when a paid account uses all sends in the current tier, it automatically moves to the next subscriber tier so sending can continue without interruption.

Neither model is inherently better.

AWeber prioritizes continuity. That is useful for a business where a stopped campaign would be costly, but it can create a higher bill automatically.

Benchmark prioritizes billing control. That reduces surprise upgrades, but the business may need to act before it can keep operating at the larger contact requirement.

Email creation: both are beginner-friendly

AWeber provides drag-and-drop email creation, templates, HTML emails, dynamic content, AMP email support, RSS-to-email and AI subject-line assistance.

Benchmark's current platform includes a drag-and-drop builder, ready-made templates, blank layouts, HTML editor, saved content blocks, Brand Kit, stock images and live preview.

Benchmark's current AI Assistant can generate email copy and images directly inside the builder.

For a standard newsletter, both are easy enough for a nontechnical marketer.

AWeber has more surrounding campaign and creator features. Benchmark's editor positioning is deliberately focused on getting a professional email produced quickly with minimal complexity.

AI: AWeber is broader; Benchmark is simpler and metered

AWeber's 2026 AI feature set is broader than email copy alone. Current product materials include AI subject-line assistance, AI landing-page generation, AI signup-form generation, writing assistance, analytics help and conversational account workflows.

The AI Signup Form Builder is particularly differentiated. Users can describe a form or upload a reference screenshot, and the system generates design, copy, layout and fields.

Benchmark integrates AI directly into the email/form production workflow. The current pricing page gives Free accounts 150 AI credits per month and Pro accounts 1,000.

Benchmark's AI Assistant creates email copy and images, making the model easy to understand: AI is another content-production tool inside email marketing.

AWeber wins on breadth. Benchmark wins on plan transparency because the current AI-credit allowances are published directly in the pricing table.

Signup forms: both are strong

AWeber supports embedded forms, hosted forms, popups and AI-generated signup experiences. Signups can flow directly into AWeber lists and trigger welcome campaigns.

Benchmark's current form builder supports drag-and-drop fields, custom fields, automatic contact tagging, list synchronization, universal embed code, Google reCAPTCHA, popup forms and hosted Form Pages.

The Benchmark form architecture is particularly straightforward for list building: create the form, map it to a list, apply tags and publish it anywhere that accepts HTML.

AWeber is stronger when visual creativity and AI form generation matter. Benchmark is stronger when the organization wants a conventional, easy-to-manage subscriber form connected to its email list.

Landing pages: AWeber has the cleaner plan story

AWeber clearly packages landing pages by plan. Lite includes up to three and Plus includes unlimited landing pages.

AWeber landing pages can collect subscribers and also sell products/services through its ecommerce features.

Benchmark has a real native landing-page builder with drag-and-drop editing, templates, embedded forms, campaign integration, branded links and conversion-goal tracking.

The caveat is plan entitlement clarity. Benchmark's live pricing page now says “Every Feature in Every Plan,” while some older 2026 Benchmark material conflicts on whether Free includes landing pages.

Because of that conflict, a buyer choosing Benchmark Free specifically for landing pages should verify the entitlement in the current product. Benchmark Pro is the safer plan for a production landing-page workflow.

Automation: AWeber Plus is clearer; Benchmark Pro is capable but less consistently documented

AWeber's plan packaging is easy to understand. Free has one workflow automation, Lite has three and Plus has unlimited automations.

AWeber also supports behavioral automation, tagging and split testing within the broader Plus feature set.

Benchmark maintains both Automation Lite and Automation Pro. Automation Lite can send sequences based on subscription dates and email engagement. Automation Pro adds a visual canvas and can react to website/email behavior, move contacts between lists and support workflows such as abandoned cart and lead-to-customer journeys.

Benchmark's current upgrade page says Automation Pro is included in Pro at no extra cost.

The caveat is Benchmark's older documentation around Free activation rights. For paid buyers, Pro is the more defensible comparison.

AWeber is easier to buy if automation entitlement clarity matters. Benchmark Pro remains capable for common email automation but is not positioned as a deep enterprise journey builder.

Integrations: AWeber wins on breadth

AWeber documents a large integration ecosystem spanning ecommerce, CRM, landing pages, lead generation, webinars, WordPress, Shopify, WooCommerce, Stripe and many other services.

The vendor's current integration materials describe hundreds of connections and support through tools such as Zapier, Make and other automation platforms.

Benchmark's current pricing page takes a more minimal approach. It directly highlights API access and Zapier, with Zapier providing connectivity to more than 8,000 apps.

Benchmark therefore has enormous indirect connectivity, but its native/direct integration catalog is smaller.

Choose AWeber if you prefer documented prebuilt integrations. Choose Benchmark if API or Zapier is acceptable for much of your stack.

API: Benchmark is unusually transparent

Benchmark Free includes two API keys. Pro includes ten.

The current pricing page explicitly positions API access as part of the integration model and says it can be used to connect CRM, stores or booking tools and pull campaign results into external dashboards.

AWeber also has a mature API and OAuth ecosystem, but the public pricing table focuses more on integrations than on API-key allowances.

For a small technical team that wants predictable API access without an enterprise plan, Benchmark's published API limits are helpful.

Web push: AWeber wins

AWeber includes web push notification capability across its current paid plan comparison.

Lite supports web push subscriptions and sends up to the current plan limits, while Plus provides the broader unlimited-style web push experience shown in the pricing table.

Benchmark is not positioned as a web-push platform.

If push notifications are part of the audience strategy, AWeber can consolidate a channel that would otherwise require another vendor.

Ecommerce: AWeber is stronger for creators and small sellers

AWeber has native ecommerce capabilities in its landing-page system. Users can sell products and services, create subscriptions/payment plans, track sales and apply purchase tags.

AWeber's current plan table lists transaction fees of 1.0% on Lite and 0.6% on Plus for AWeber ecommerce, separate from payment-processor charges.

It also integrates with Shopify, WooCommerce, Stripe, ThriveCart and other ecommerce systems.

Benchmark can connect to ecommerce through API, Zapier and integrations, and Automation Pro supports workflows such as purchase confirmation and abandoned-cart follow-up.

But ecommerce is not the center of Benchmark's product. A creator who wants a landing page that collects email and sells a simple offer will generally find AWeber more complete.

Segmentation: AWeber Lite is more restricted

AWeber Lite currently allows one custom segment, while Plus allows unlimited custom segments.

Benchmark supports filters, lists, tags and targeted sending as part of contact management and personalization.

This means a small team with a modest list but many targeting needs may find Benchmark Pro more flexible than AWeber Lite.

If the team prefers AWeber, Plus solves the segment restriction but at a higher price.

Team access: the two products use opposite pricing philosophies

AWeber Lite includes up to three users and Plus includes unlimited users.

Benchmark Pro includes one user and charges $15 per month for each additional user.

A three-person team at Benchmark's entry Pro tier therefore costs $49 per month before tax: $19 for Pro plus two additional users at $15 each.

AWeber Lite already includes three users, although its list/landing-page/automation limits may still be too restrictive for that team.

For teams, do not compare only the base subscription. Collaboration can erase Benchmark's contact-tier pricing advantage.

Reporting: both cover core campaign analytics

AWeber includes simple subscriber/message analytics on Lite and deeper message/account analytics on Plus. It also supports sales tracking and webpage tracking in its broader feature set.

Benchmark's reporting includes contact activity, performance overviews, email reports, link activity and engagement timelines.

Benchmark's product philosophy emphasizes clear operational reporting rather than highly advanced marketing attribution.

AWeber Plus has the broader creator/ecommerce reporting story. Benchmark is sufficient for teams mainly tracking sends, opens, clicks and engagement trends.

Deliverability and list health

Neither provider can guarantee inbox placement.

AWeber has operated email infrastructure for decades and publishes deliverability guidance, authentication documentation and detailed deliverability reporting on current paid plans.

Benchmark includes email-audit tools, list verification on Pro and knowledge-base resources around delivery quality.

Benchmark Pro includes one list verification up to the plan size, which is a useful operational feature before a migration or major campaign.

For either vendor, domain authentication, consent, bounce management, complaint rates and content quality matter more than marketing claims about inbox placement.

Security and compliance

Both vendors publish privacy and data-processing documentation.

AWeber documents privacy, subscriber confidentiality, authentication and data-processing terms. Toollers' current research has not established a current public SOC 2 or ISO application certification.

Benchmark documents GDPR/CCPA-related obligations, a Data Processing Addendum, MFA, SSL, firewalls and intrusion-detection practices in current research. Toollers likewise did not verify a current independent SOC 2 or ISO application certification for Benchmark.

For an enterprise procurement team requiring formal independent certifications, neither product should be assumed to satisfy the requirement based only on the current public material. Request the latest vendor-risk/security package directly.

Which is better for a new creator?

AWeber usually wins.

The Free plan has slightly more monthly sending, one workflow automation, landing-page/list-building tools and a broader creator ecosystem.

AI signup forms and built-in ecommerce also make it easier for a creator to go from audience building to selling.

Which is better for a small nonprofit or community newsletter?

Benchmark is extremely competitive.

Its Free plan covers 500 contacts and 2,500 monthly sends, while the editor, forms and reporting are intentionally simple.

If the organization sends one weekly newsletter to around 400 contacts, the plan can remain free.

AWeber is equally viable and provides a little more send capacity. The decision should come down to editor preference and integration requirements.

Which is better at 1,000 contacts?

Benchmark generally wins on published entry cost.

Benchmark Pro begins at 1,000 contacts for $19 monthly or $16 annual-equivalent and allows up to 10,000 sends per month.

AWeber Lite at 1,000 subscribers costs $25 monthly or $250 annually and also allows 10,000 sends.

AWeber may still justify the difference through landing pages, ecommerce, web push, integrations and support, but Benchmark has the pure email price advantage.

Which is better for automation?

If the priority is plan clarity, AWeber wins. The limits are explicit: one workflow on Free, three automations on Lite and unlimited on Plus.

Benchmark Pro supports Automation Pro and can run behavioral workflows, but its current/legacy documentation is more fragmented.

If the priority is deep lifecycle automation rather than simple-to-moderate email journeys, neither product is the strongest category leader. A buyer should compare an automation-first platform instead of switching between two relatively approachable email tools.

Which is better for landing pages?

AWeber wins on packaging clarity and creator functionality.

Lite provides three landing pages and Plus unlimited pages. AWeber ecommerce can sell products or services directly from landing pages.

Benchmark's landing-page builder is capable and integrates forms, campaigns and automation, but Free entitlement has been inconsistently described across 2026 vendor pages.

Which is better for integrations?

AWeber wins when native/prebuilt connections matter.

Benchmark can connect to thousands of services through Zapier and has a usable API, so the practical integration ceiling is still high.

The choice is “broader ready-made ecosystem” versus “simpler API/Zapier connectivity.”

Which is better for teams?

AWeber generally wins at the lower tiers because Lite includes three users and Plus unlimited users.

Benchmark's one included Pro user plus $15 per additional user can make a multi-person marketing team substantially more expensive than the base $19 price suggests.

Which is better for AI-assisted email creation?

Benchmark has the cleaner in-editor AI model: the AI Assistant generates copy and images, with 150 monthly credits on Free and 1,000 on Pro.

AWeber has the broader AI product family, including subject-line help and generative signup-form/landing-page experiences.

Choose Benchmark if you mainly want AI inside the email editor. Choose AWeber if you want AI to help build more of the creator funnel.

Which is easier to budget?

Benchmark wins at the plan-structure level because there are only Free, Pro and Enterprise and the send formula is public.

However, additional Benchmark users cost $15 per month each and Pro pricing grows with contact tiers.

AWeber publishes more tier detail, including exact prices for many subscriber bands, which makes it easier to forecast list growth even though the plan structure is more layered.

For a solo marketer, Benchmark is simpler. For a finance team forecasting 500 to 150,000 subscribers, AWeber's published tier table is unusually useful.

AWeber limitations

Pros

  • AWeber strengths: permanent Free plan with 500 subscribers/3,000 sends
  • broad integration ecosystem
  • AI signup-form and landing-page capabilities
  • native ecommerce and purchase tagging
  • web push
  • strong creator support
  • Plus removes most list/page/automation/segment/user limits.

Cons

  • AWeber limitations: Lite has restrictive 1-list/3-page/3-automation/1-segment caps
  • paid cost rises with subscribers
  • sending is capped at subscriber multipliers
  • AWeber can automatically move accounts to a higher subscriber tier when paid send capacity is exhausted
  • current public pricing no longer presents the old $899 Unlimited tier
  • current public SOC/ISO application certification was not verified.

The biggest AWeber mistake is choosing Lite because $15 is cheaper than Benchmark Pro without considering list growth. At 1,000 contacts, AWeber Lite rises to $25 monthly while Benchmark's published entry Pro remains $19 for a comparable 10,000-send allowance.

Benchmark limitations

Pros

  • Benchmark strengths: simple Free/Pro/Enterprise structure
  • permanent Free plan
  • Pro starts $19 monthly/$16 annual-equivalent for 1,000 contacts
  • straightforward drag-and-drop/HTML editor
  • forms, contact management and reporting
  • AI Assistant with published credits
  • API and Zapier connectivity
  • no automatic contact-limit upgrade
  • list verification on Pro.

Cons

  • Benchmark limitations: Free sends are lower than AWeber Free
  • Pro includes only one user and each extra user costs $15/month
  • advanced automation/personalization/analytics are less deep than automation-first competitors
  • native integration directory is smaller
  • 2026 vendor pages conflict on some Free landing-page/automation entitlements
  • current public SOC/ISO application certification was not verified.

The biggest Benchmark mistake is assuming the $19 Pro price is a team price. One extra colleague takes the entry account to $34 per month; a three-person team reaches $49 before contact-tier growth.

Which should you choose?

Choose AWeber if your business is creator-led or values a broad surrounding ecosystem. It is particularly good for newsletters, coaches, bloggers and small sellers who want free audience building, landing pages, AI signup forms, web push, ecommerce and many integrations in one familiar platform. Free is excellent for early lists; Lite works for straightforward campaigns; Plus is the stronger long-term plan when multiple automations, pages or users matter. See the AWeber review, AWeber pricing guide, and AWeber alternatives.

Choose Benchmark if your primary job is simply creating, sending and measuring email campaigns without building a large creator or ecommerce stack. It is especially compelling around 1,000 contacts, where the published Pro entry price is lower than AWeber Lite for the same 10,000-send monthly allowance. Benchmark also has a straightforward editor, forms, AI assistance, API access and strong Zapier connectivity. Budget additional users separately. See the Benchmark review, Benchmark pricing guide, and Benchmark alternatives.

If the choice remains close, recreate one real workflow in both platforms: one signup form, one landing page, one five-email welcome series, one segmented broadcast, one sales or donation campaign and every integration the business needs. Then price the same account at 500, 1,000, 5,000 and 10,000 contacts with the real number of team users. The cost crossover and workflow friction will usually reveal the better fit.

How we compared AWeber and Benchmark

Testing methodology

This is a research-based comparison, not a hands-on deliverability benchmark. Toollers reviewed current official AWeber and Benchmark pricing, send limits, editor, automation, forms, landing pages, AI, ecommerce, integrations, users, reporting and security documentation on October 17, 2026. We did not send the same production campaign through both platforms, benchmark inbox placement, test every integration, conduct a security audit or purchase a paid subscription. We use the current live Benchmark pricing page as the controlling source where older Benchmark documentation conflicts. We also use AWeber's current live pricing page rather than carrying the older public $899 Unlimited plan into a new-buyer comparison because that plan is no longer presented as a standard public tier on October 17, 2026.

Frequently asked questions

Is AWeber or Benchmark better for email marketing?
AWeber is usually better for creators and small businesses that value landing pages, ecommerce, web push, broad integrations and a generous permanent Free plan. Benchmark is usually better for teams that want a simpler email-first platform, straightforward Pro pricing, forms, reporting, API/Zapier connectivity and fewer plan layers.
Which is cheaper, AWeber or Benchmark?
It depends on list size. AWeber Lite starts lower at $15 per month for up to 500 subscribers, while Benchmark Pro starts at $19 per month but begins at 1,000 contacts. At 1,000 contacts, AWeber Lite is currently $25 per month while Benchmark Pro's published entry is $19, so Benchmark becomes more competitive as the list moves beyond AWeber's smallest tier.
Which has the better free plan, AWeber or Benchmark?
AWeber Free is slightly more generous on sending: up to 500 subscribers and 3,000 emails per month versus Benchmark Free's 500 contacts and 2,500 emails. Benchmark Free publishes one user, one domain, two API keys and 150 AI credits. Benchmark's older 2026 documents conflict on some advanced Free entitlements, so verify any mission-critical automation or landing-page feature in the live account.
Does AWeber still have the $899 Unlimited plan?
AWeber's current live pricing page on October 17, 2026 no longer presents the old $899 Unlimited plan as a standard public tier. It publishes Lite and Plus pricing tables and directs high-volume organizations, including 100,000+ subscriber accounts, to contact sales. Buyers should request current high-volume terms instead of relying on the older $899 figure.
Which is better for integrations, AWeber or Benchmark?
AWeber has the stronger ready-made integration ecosystem across ecommerce, WordPress, lead generation, webinars and creator tools. Benchmark offers strong practical connectivity through its API and Zapier, which the current pricing page says can connect to more than 8,000 apps. Choose AWeber for prebuilt breadth and Benchmark if middleware/API connectivity is acceptable.
