Features and capabilities4.4

Official documentation verifies contextual internal-link suggestions, one-click insertion, auto-linking, orphan-content reporting, broken-link reporting, URL changes, Google Search Console integration and multi-site licensing; the product remains intentionally focused on self-hosted WordPress.

Usability and implementation3.8

G2 reviewers frequently describe meaningful time savings and a straightforward WordPress workflow, but they also report irrelevant suggestions, learning-curve friction and occasional backend slowness; Capterra's small seven-review sample includes both strong usability feedback and a serious 2026 support/product-failure complaint.

Pricing and value transparency4.2

The current official knowledge base clearly lists annual-only plans from $119/year through $497/year, site limits and included AI credits, and a free WordPress edition exists; value is tempered by no monthly premium option and a current seven-day initial-purchase refund window.

Integrations, security and trust3.6

Link Whisper documents Google Search Console plus SEO-plugin integrations and publishes privacy/terms pages, but the researched materials do not establish a broader independent application-security certification or enterprise trust program; WordPress-only deployment also narrows integration breadth.

Scored by Aditya Verma

Link Whisper is a specialized internal-linking tool built primarily for content-heavy WordPress sites. It scans site content, surfaces contextual internal-link opportunities, identifies orphaned pages, reports existing inbound and outbound links, supports one-click insertion, manages broken links and URL changes, and can automate repetitive linking rules. In 2026, the product has moved further into AI-assisted site-structure analysis with relationship scoring, visual sitemaps, keyword analysis and post summarization. Its strongest fit is a publisher, affiliate site, SEO team or agency managing enough WordPress content that manual internal-link discovery has become expensive. Its biggest limitation is specialization: Link Whisper does one SEO job deeply, but buyers outside WordPress—or teams that only need a few internal links per month—may not need a dedicated paid tool.

Quick verdict

Link Whisper is a strong specialist choice for WordPress publishers and SEO teams that need to discover, add and maintain internal links at scale. Its current feature set is much deeper than a simple link-suggestion plugin, but pricing and refund information is inconsistent across some official marketing pages, so checkout terms should be verified before purchase.

Key takeaways

  • Current Toollers score: 4.0/5 research-based, not hands-on
  • Source-of-truth annual pricing: $119 for 1 site, $197 for 3, $297 for 10 and $497 for 50, although some active promotional pages still show $97 for Starter
  • The free edition handles basic suggestions/reporting while Premium adds stronger automation, broken-link management, URL changes, GSC data and broader site-management workflows

Key features
  • Auto-linking
  • Google Search Console integration
  • URL Changer
  • Orphan content reporting
  • Internal link suggestions
Pros
  • A free WordPress edition provides internal-link suggestions and link-health reporting before a buyer upgrades.
  • Paid plans include automated linking, fuller link reporting, orphan-content discovery, broken-link management, Google Search Console integration, and data export.
  • Premium licensing scales from one site to agency use across multiple WordPress sites.
Cons
  • The product is designed for self-hosted WordPress, so it is not a general-purpose internal-linking platform for every CMS.
  • The current pricing knowledge base says premium plugin licenses are billed annually rather than as month-to-month subscriptions.

The Link Whisper profile is marked Tested in the CMS. Our assessment here uses published product evidence and attributed user feedback; the available research does not establish a documented hands-on test. An editorial reviewer is assigned to check this article separately from its author.

Link Whisper is software for finding and managing internal links. Its main WordPress workflow is intentionally practical: install the plugin, let it scan the site's posts and pages, review linking opportunities, then insert or manage links without manually opening and searching every article.

Internal linking sounds simple until a site reaches hundreds or thousands of URLs. The difficult part is no longer adding an HTML link. It is finding which old post should link to a new one, identifying pages with no inbound links, maintaining anchor diversity, fixing broken targets and updating links when URLs change. Link Whisper tries to make those maintenance tasks visible from one WordPress workflow.

The product has also expanded beyond classic keyword matching. Its current AI system includes relationship analysis, keyword analysis, product detection and visual sitemaps. Version 4.0.3, released September 17, 2026, added AI post summarization so Link Whisper can better infer what each page is about before scoring relationships and suggestions.

Testing methodology

For this Link Whisper review, we checked current vendor documentation, pricing and the attributed independent feedback cited below on October 2, 2026. The editor evaluated feature scope, limits, fit and buying tradeoffs. Toollers marks the product Tested in its CMS workflow, but no named, dated hands-on test log was supplied for this article; we do not claim first-hand product use. The reviewer performs an editorial review of the sourced analysis, not a hands-on certification.

Pricing required extra reconciliation because official Link Whisper pages currently disagree. Toollers' stored research and the more complete current product page use $119/year for Starter, $197 for Growth, $297 for Pro and $497 for Agency. Separate current promotional pages still expose $97 for Starter. The article uses $119 as the canonical annual Starter figure and records the $97 page as a discrepancy rather than silently choosing whichever page is cheapest.

The refund story also changed across earlier research. The live Link Whisper Terms now explicitly say the initial-purchase money-back guarantee is 14 days and that references to other periods are out of date. We therefore use 14 days in this article, while documenting that older internal research captured a shorter seven-day account-term reference.

Builder support

The core Link Whisper workflow is still suggestions. When a writer edits a post, the plugin analyzes the site's other content and proposes pages that might be relevant to the text being written. Premium can insert selected links with one click.

This is the feature most consistently praised in G2 reviews. Reviewers describe the time savings from not manually searching for related posts and from seeing linking opportunities inside the normal WordPress publishing process.

It is not perfectly automatic intelligence. G2's review summary notes that suggestions can occasionally be irrelevant. That means a human still needs to validate whether a recommended destination genuinely helps the reader. Link Whisper is strongest as an assisted editorial system, not a license to approve every suggestion blindly.

Outbound suggestions answer, “What should this article link to?” Inbound suggestions answer the harder question: “Which older article should link to this page?” That is especially useful immediately after publishing a new page because the new page naturally has few or no internal links pointing to it.

Premium can generate inbound suggestions from existing posts and insert approved links into those source pages. This saves the editor from manually searching the archive for old content that can support the new URL.

Link Whisper reports pages with zero or very few inbound internal links. Those orphan or underlinked pages are often where internal-link maintenance delivers the highest practical value because a site can have excellent content that is difficult for users and crawlers to discover through the internal structure.

The current product pages have expanded this into a broader link-health dashboard. The interface can highlight linking gaps, orphaned pages, relationship scores and site-structure opportunities rather than exposing only a raw link count.

This is also useful operationally for agencies. An orphan report can become a concrete SEO deliverable instead of a vague recommendation to “improve internal linking.”

Auto Linking

Premium includes an Auto Linking feature that lets an administrator define keywords and destination URLs. When those terms appear in eligible content, Link Whisper can create internal links based on the configured rule.

This is helpful for cornerstone pages, glossary terms, important product pages and repeatable content patterns. The risk is overautomation. Exact keyword rules can create links that are technically valid but editorially unnecessary. Link Whisper includes controls and checks designed to reduce duplicates, but editors should still review important sitewide rules before enabling aggressive automatic insertion.

The Free edition does not provide the same broken-link workflow as Premium. Premium automatically checks for broken links and supports editing or deleting affected links from reporting views.

That turns Link Whisper into a maintenance product as well as a link-building product. Internal-link work does not end when a link is inserted; URLs change, old resources disappear and redirected structures accumulate. A report that identifies those problems can save repeated manual crawls.

URL Changer

URL Changer is one of Link Whisper's more practical maintenance features. When a destination URL changes, administrators can update references across selected content instead of manually editing every article.

The plugin also supports relative-link workflows and editing from report views. This is especially useful during site migrations, category changes or large content restructures.

Google Search Console and SEO-plugin keywords

Premium can connect to Google Search Console and can use target-keyword information from supported SEO plugins such as Yoast SEO, Rank Math and All in One SEO. This gives the suggestion engine more context than the page text alone.

The GSC integration is optional. Link Whisper's current privacy documentation says the initial GSC authorization involves token transfer for authentication and that Link Whisper does not retain a record of the token exchange.

AI Relation Analysis and visual sitemaps

Link Whisper currently provides several AI processing modes. Relation Analysis determines how closely posts are related and feeds features such as AI Sitemaps and suggestion sorting. Product Detection identifies products or services mentioned in content. Keyword Analysis generates target keywords from post content.

The AI Sitemap visualizes relationships among posts and can show related pages that are linked versus related pages that are not. This can help editors see topic clusters and structural gaps that are difficult to understand from a spreadsheet.

Version 4.0.3 also introduced AI Post Summarization. Link Whisper says the system now writes a summary of each post in the post's own language and uses that summary to better understand topic relationships.

AI credits

Paid plans include AI-credit allocations. Toollers' source-of-truth research records 2,000 credits for Starter, 3,000 for Growth, 5,000 for Pro and 10,000 for Agency. Some promotional pages currently advertise temporarily doubled credit amounts, so those larger figures should be treated as offers rather than permanent plan allowances.

Link Whisper also sells extra on-demand credits. A current June 2026 checkout page lists 1,000 credits for $22, 2,000 for $29, 5,000 for $49, 10,000 for $79 and 20,000 for $129.

The vendor's current FAQ says AI can work through Link Whisper credits without requiring a personal OpenAI key, while older/current technical articles also document optional OpenAI-key workflows. Buyers relying heavily on AI should confirm which method their account uses and how credits are consumed.

Page-builder and custom-field support

Link Whisper currently documents support for Gutenberg, Classic Editor, Elementor, Divi, Beaver Builder, Avada, WPBakery, Oxygen, Thrive, Kadence, GeneratePress/GenerateBlocks, YooTheme and several other builders.

The plugin can also process Advanced Custom Fields content and can be configured for other custom metafield-based content. That matters because many WordPress sites store significant content outside the classic post body.

WooCommerce and custom post types

WooCommerce products are WordPress custom post types, and Link Whisper can be configured to include them in suggestion processing. This allows product-to-product or content-to-product internal linking for ecommerce SEO.

Link Whisper's current public site also says “Available on Shopify.” Toollers' stored product record is still WordPress-focused, and the public research used here does not establish feature parity between the WordPress plugin and any Shopify version. The article therefore keeps WordPress as the primary platform until the Shopify implementation is separately verified.

Cross-site linking

Multi-site license holders can interlink licensed sites using Link Whisper's site-interlinking system. Current support documentation requires the sites to share the same license key and matching access code.

This is useful for publishers that operate a network of related WordPress sites. It is less relevant to agencies whose client sites must remain completely separate from each other.

Privacy and data handling

Link Whisper says its Premium plugin does not send normal site content or personally identifiable information to Link Whisper servers for routine processing. The documented server contact is primarily license validation, optional GSC authorization and plugin updates.

AI processing can involve OpenAI depending on the configured method. Link Whisper states that it does not monitor or use the site's AI-processed content for its own training, and that API data is not used by OpenAI for model training by default under the relevant API policies.

The current public materials are useful for plugin-level privacy understanding but do not establish a broader enterprise security certification program such as an independent Link Whisper SOC 2 or ISO application certification.

Toollers uses the annual totals above because they match the stored current research and a fuller current Link Whisper product page. Some active landing pages display $97 for Starter, creating an official-source discrepancy. Buyers should confirm the checkout they actually use.

Link Whisper has a genuine Free WordPress edition, so there is no need to buy Premium only to see whether the basic workflow fits. The Free-versus-Premium documentation makes it clear that Premium is primarily about stronger automation, inbound suggestions, broken-link management, URL editing, click reporting and greater control.

Pros

  • Purpose-built for internal linking rather than being a small feature inside a broad SEO suite
  • Free WordPress edition provides a practical evaluation path
  • Premium combines suggestions, auto-linking, orphan discovery, broken-link management, URL changing and reporting
  • Multi-site licensing becomes relatively inexpensive per site at Pro and Agency scale
  • WordPress builder/custom-field support is broad
  • Current G2 reviews strongly emphasize time savings

Cons

  • Official pricing pages currently disagree on the Starter annual price
  • AI/link suggestions still require editorial review because irrelevant recommendations can occur
  • Current money-back guarantee is only 14 days for the initial purchase
  • Capterra's small current sample includes a serious 2026 product/support complaint

Who should use this

  • Content-heavy WordPress publishers with hundreds or thousands of posts

  • Enterprises that require a formal application-level security certification not established in the current public research

Toollers rating breakdown

The current Toollers research score for Link Whisper is 4.0 out of 5. It is separate from G2 and Capterra customer-review ratings.

Rating Breakdown

Features and capabilities

4.4

Usability and implementation

3.8

Pricing and value transparency

4.2

Integrations, security and trust

3.6

The 4.4 feature score reflects a deep specialist workflow rather than broad SEO coverage. Usability is lower because independent reviews combine substantial time-saving praise with occasional irrelevant suggestions, workflow friction and a serious negative Capterra case. Pricing scores well because there is a free edition and clear multi-site tiers, but current official pages disagree on Starter pricing and billing language. Trust is held back by the narrow WordPress ecosystem and lack of a verified independent enterprise security certification program.

Expert tip

Before buying Premium, install Link Whisper Free and audit one real content cluster. If the free report reveals enough orphaned pages and missed links to justify ongoing maintenance, upgrade and test inbound suggestions, Auto Linking and broken-link workflows during the 14-day initial-purchase refund window.

— Toollers editorial team

G2 currently shows Link Whisper at 4.5 out of 5 from 16 reviews. Its current review summary says users consistently praise time savings, the ability to add internal links quickly, the interface and AI link suggestions. The main recurring criticism is that suggestions can sometimes be irrelevant and need manual checking.

Capterra currently shows Link Whisper at 3.6 out of 5 from only seven reviews, with value-for-money and customer-service scores notably lower than the headline G2 sentiment. The tiny sample means this number should not be treated as representative of the whole user base, but the July 2026 one-star review is still relevant because it describes a prolonged product/support failure that ended in a refund.

The right interpretation is not to average 4.5 and 3.6. G2 provides a small but broadly positive set; Capterra provides an even smaller, more polarized set. Toollers therefore uses both as qualitative evidence and keeps its own 4.0 research score separate.

The direct alternatives landscape is stronger outside the current Toollers catalog than inside it. Relevant current products include LinkBoss, Linkilo, Internal Link Juicer, Linksy and Yoast SEO Premium. However, Toollers does not yet have verified live Tool records and stable Product IDs for those direct competitors.

The Link Whisper profile is marked Tested in the CMS. Our assessment here uses published product evidence and attributed user feedback; the available research does not establish a documented hands-on test. An editorial reviewer is assigned to check this article separately from its author.

Final verdict

Link Whisper is valuable because internal linking is its primary job. It is not trying to be a keyword database, rank tracker, content editor and backlink suite at the same time. For a large WordPress content library, that focus can save substantial editorial time.

The modern product is also broader than older versions: AI relation analysis, visual sitemaps, post summarization, site-health reporting and maintenance tools make it more like an internal-link operating layer than a simple suggestion widget.

The two things to verify before purchase are price and fit. The price needs a final checkout check because Link Whisper currently exposes multiple official Starter figures. Fit is easy to test because the Free edition exists. If the free audit surfaces real structural problems, Premium becomes much easier to justify.
