SignalHire Review: Features, Pricing and Fit
Explore SignalHire review details, key features, pricing limits, business fit and important alternatives using current vendor documentation.

Vendor provides person search, social extensions, successful-reveal contact credits, bulk CSV enrichment, ATS/CRM export and three published API families; actual contact depth depends on record coverage.
G2 matched SignalHire feedback credits fast prospect discovery but documents uneven missing/outdated data, limited trial credits and support/billing complaints; no Toollers validation sample exists.
Official current selector shows $69 month-to-month versus $57 monthly equivalent annually for Emails, Phones or bundled plans, but the 1,000 versus 435 monthly credit differences matter greatly.
Official APIs and named ATS/CRM connectors are documented; personal contact-data processing, platform policies, privacy law and individual record accuracy remain unverified by Toollers.
Scored by Vishal Singh
Recruiters and outbound sales teams often know who they need to contact but lack a usable work email address or direct phone number. SignalHire is a contact-discovery and sourcing service built around that gap. It combines a searchable people and company database, a browser extension, lead lists, recruiting projects, bulk enrichment and integration routes into CRM or applicant tracking systems. Its appeal is practical: a sourcer can move from a professional profile to available contact fields without manually searching a collection of sites. Its biggest limitation is equally practical: a returned address or number is not proof that the person can be reached, is the correct decision-maker or can lawfully be contacted in a particular campaign.

What is SignalHire?
SignalHire is a professional contact-finding and sourcing platform intended for recruiting, human resources, sales prospecting and related business research. A user can search for people by role, company and other filters, inspect profiles, request available business or personal contact data and organize the results for subsequent work. The vendor markets access to more than 900 million profiles and 30 million companies. Those figures describe the advertised search universe, not guaranteed records with usable contact fields. The presence of a profile in the database does not ensure a direct dial or a current working email is available.
The platform is more than a one-off email-finder widget. Its lead lists group prospective customers, job projects group recruiting candidates, and its recruiting interface describes sequences and tracking. Teams can transfer discovered records into existing systems via CSV, supported direct ATS/CRM integrations or APIs. The best fit is a team that already has a disciplined way to decide whom to contact, evaluate returned data and update its system of record. It is less clearly a replacement for a comprehensive CRM, full recruiting applicant tracker or deeply featured sales engagement platform.
Credit-based email and telephone discovery for recruiters, sales teams and business prospecting.
Best for: Recruiters and B2B sales development teams that need quick email or mobile lookup and have a process for quality-checking, consent and suppression lists.
- Successful credit charging
- Company database access
- Bulk CSV enrichment
- Person and Search API
- Team management
- Official Free signup allows five no-card contact lookups; the browser extension advertises ten free credits a month for low-volume research.
- The vendor uses one successful reveal credit for all available contact details attached to a profile rather than charging for unsuccessful contact search.
- The pricing matrix explicitly separates email-only, phone-only and combined contact use, making allowances easier to align with outreach work.
- Reveal accuracy and availability are not guaranteed; G2 product-matched criticism includes missing, outdated or incorrect contact records.
- Phone/combined plans provide far fewer contact credits than email-only at the same listed monthly price.
Searching people and companies
Finding a prospect before revealing details
SignalHire's search tools help users narrow large numbers of profiles using attributes such as job title, company, location, experience and skills. This can support a recruiter looking for a particular technical background or a sales development representative seeking managers at midmarket software companies. A clear targeting definition is important because a database can return plausible people who are still unsuitable. For recruiting, check current role, seniority, skills and geography. For sales, check decision-making authority, company fit and whether the individual works in the relevant function.
Search visibility and contact reveal are different operations. Teams can search the database and review candidate context, then spend credits to request a phone or email where a plan allows it. Avoid treating the total profile count as a number of contacts that can be exported at no cost. Create a small representative sample, review how many records meet your target criteria, then measure the percentage with usable fields after a reveal. Quality-adjusted yield is a more meaningful metric than how many matches a search returns.
Lead Lists and Job Projects
Lead Lists provide a way to organize people relevant to sales or business development campaigns. Job Projects are oriented toward recruiting workflows, letting a team associate profiles with hiring activity. The vendor's knowledge base lists actions for creating lists, adding individual or multiple profiles, exporting contacts and sending project-related email communications. This is valuable when several people work from the same sourcing queue. A team can establish conventions for ownership, stage, purpose, source and the action planned next.
List organization should not be confused with a complete data governance workflow. Define how duplicates are handled across projects, whether an old record remains valid, who can reveal a contact again and when a record should be removed. If a candidate asks not to be contacted, a recruiter needs a reliable suppression practice that operates across exports and downstream systems. SignalHire's built-in storage is only one location where data can travel; a copy in a CRM, spreadsheet or outreach system must be governed consistently.
Browser extension and contact reveals
The SignalHire extension provides a lookup workflow while a user is viewing an eligible online profile. Its product and help pages discuss LinkedIn, Facebook, GitHub, X and other professional or social contexts, with browser support depending on extension version. Rather than manually copying names and company domains into a separate search screen, a recruiter can request the profile's available details and move the record to a list or integration. Extension compatibility, permitted websites and platform access policies can change, so the relevant workflow should be checked with the browser and account used by the team.
The free entry is unusually small but meaningful as a pilot. SignalHire's pricing page says a signup can retrieve five contact details without providing a credit card, while installation of the extension is advertised to provide ten free credits every month. The site sometimes describes the allowance as five or ten; it does not establish that every new account can add the two entitlements together. Treat the free tier as a data-quality test, not a sustainable production list-building budget. Sample several job functions, geographies and company sizes instead of choosing only famous executives likely to be covered well.
What actually consumes a credit?
The public pricing FAQ says selecting Get Contacts subtracts one contact credit if at least one email or phone number is returned. The practical interpretation depends on the selected subscription. Email-only plans supply email reveals; Phones plans supply phone data; the combined plan can return emails and/or phones under its own allowance. A buyer should not assume that 1,000 monthly email credits can be used for 1,000 direct numbers. Equally, a Phones or combined plan does not inherit the larger email-only quota just because its base displayed price is the same.
The vendor advertises that one successful contact reveal can return available fields for a person, but actual completeness will vary. Someone may have several emails, an outdated mobile number, one business address or no usable detail. A paid credit should therefore be evaluated by whether the resulting record supports the intended work. Counting returned records alone can obscure wrong-person matches, bounced email, switched phone numbers or regions where data collection must be restricted. Maintain a separate outcome log rather than taking vendor verification claims as guarantees.
Data quality: useful research versus claimed accuracy
SignalHire describes live verification and a broad professional database. These are vendor assertions, not a Toollers field test. We have not purchased a SignalHire plan, sampled a representative contact set, called phone numbers, run SMTP-validity checks or measured results against a known recruitment or sales population. Accuracy cannot be responsibly expressed as a single global percentage. A phone number may connect to the wrong person, an email may accept delivery but remain unread, and a professional may have changed employers since a profile was indexed.
A realistic quality assessment takes a mixed sample: current employees at well-known businesses, small-company staff, niche job titles, multiple regions and people who have recently moved roles. Score coverage separately from correctness. For emails, inspect correct domain and identity, delivery/bounce rate and actual engagement without equating an open with verification. For phones, record whether the number connects to the target, an office receptionist, an old employer or an unrelated individual. Do not use a single failed reveal to dismiss the entire database, but do not infer high coverage from a handful of easy successes.
Before importing a contact into an outreach sequence, verify the purpose and lawful basis for its use under rules that apply to your organization and recipients. The SignalHire terms explicitly place responsibility for privacy-law compliance on account users. Its publicly documented privacy mechanisms and vendor claims do not make every campaign lawful. Suppression lists, objection handling, accurate sender identity, opt-out management, retention policies and channel restrictions should be reviewed by the organization. This review offers a buyer workflow, not legal advice.
CRM, ATS and CSV integrations
SignalHire advertises export routes to common recruiting and sales systems, including Zoho Recruit, Zoho CRM, Vincere, PCRecruiter, CATSone and other supported destinations. Its knowledge base also includes a HubSpot extension flow. These integrations can reduce time spent copying profile information and can keep a recruiter working in the applicant tracker rather than in separate tabs. Availability can be contingent on the particular extension, subscription, user permissions or destination account settings. Inspect the current supported integration list before selecting a tool primarily for one named connector.
For CSV exports and bulk enrichment, the attraction is scaling a workflow beyond one reveal at a time. Yet bulk actions also scale mistakes. Test how the vendor maps names, company domains, profile URLs, titles and contact fields. Deduplicate on stable identifiers, validate which records were enriched and preserve an audit trail of the information's source and refresh date. The destination system may enforce import limits or its own data rules. Check whether the selected plan and administrative role can perform the export operation before committing to a bulk migration.
APIs for enrichment workflows
The vendor describes a Person API and Search API for integrating contact discovery and profile searches with a recruitment or CRM stack. This could suit teams that wish to enrich records when a candidate applies, when a lead is assigned or when a data-quality queue detects a missing field. API access being listed on a pricing page is not proof of unlimited request volume. Confirm authentication, data fields, rate limits, credit deductions, permitted uses, logging, error states and conditions for commercial redistribution with SignalHire before engineering a workflow.
Design automation to handle partial and absent responses. A lookup can return a profile but not the required email; another may return a contact that conflicts with the CRM's current employer. Instead of overwriting existing data blindly, store the enrichment source, evaluation date and a review state. Add account-level throttling and stop rules so an accidental loop cannot exhaust an annual credit allocation. It is also sensible to provide an internal process for access requests, deletions and retention audits when personal contact details move between systems.

The vendor's official price selector currently shows the same $69 month-to-month starting figure and $57 monthly equivalent with yearly commitment for the base Emails, Phones and combined packages. Their allowances differ. Emails currently lists 1,000 monthly or 12,000 annual credits; Phones and Emails & Phones list 435 monthly or 5,400 annual. A twelve-month commitment at the displayed annual-equivalent entry rate totals $684 before tax or special conditions. The listed annual credits are not a promise that every one can be spent on the same type of contact in every plan.
The vendor's page also advertises separate unlimited packages. These should never be summarized as unlimited contact extraction. The terms say such plans are available on annual subscriptions and apply an aggregate fair-use limit of 2,000 credits per month; unused monthly fair-use capacity expires. Published higher-volume offers or promotions may have other prices and ordering constraints. The more reliable comparison is the fully specified quote: permitted credit type, amount, billing commitment, export rights, API use, renewal, team policy and refund conditions.
Unlimited users do not equal unlimited data
Unlimited invited users are a major differentiator in SignalHire's plan presentation. A recruiting agency may give several consultants access without a per-seat line item. However, the team's allowance is shared. A single high-volume researcher can consume a large portion of the budget before colleagues complete their assignments, and the combined plan may go further or shorter than expected depending on the availability of phone fields. Teams need admin permissions, usage monitoring and a credit-allocation process even if inviting more users is technically free.
Consider a hypothetical team that needs 900 verified emails and 200 useful direct dials per month. Buying an email-only base tier for 1,000 credits would not address the phone need. Choosing a 435-credit combined tier might cover only 435 successful person reveals, not 900 emails plus 200 phones. An upgrade or separate plan could be necessary. This is an illustrative planning scenario, not a billable usage projection; the actual checkout and contract determine what is charged and how different response types are counted.
SignalHire for recruiters
Recruiters may get the most direct value because SignalHire's product language and tools are closely aligned with candidate sourcing. An agency consultant can filter by technical skill or industry experience, save promising people to a Job Project and identify direct contact channels for outreach. A hiring team can then export selected profiles to an applicant tracking system rather than managing every relationship inside the sourcing app. The extension is useful when a recruiter already discovers a strong candidate on an outside professional website.
Its suitability depends on the recruiting team, not just product coverage. For executive search, even a small number of accurate personal contact paths may be valuable. For hourly or high-volume hiring, a smaller effective coverage rate can make credit costs climb rapidly. Teams should measure response rates by role and geography, control duplicate candidate approaches, record candidate preferences and reconcile exported records to the ATS. Advertising an enormous database is not a substitute for relevant talent coverage and respectful candidate communications.
SignalHire for sales and lead generation
Sales developers can use SignalHire to build contact routes for a defined list of target accounts. It is most useful when the company and likely buyer roles are known but verified contact data is incomplete. Compared with an all-in-one sales platform, SignalHire is strongest as a discovery and enrichment component. Teams needing advanced sequences, intent signals, a dialer and deal management in one account should compare specialized outbound platforms as well. SignalHire advertises sequences, but their operational breadth and email-account limits require plan-specific confirmation.
A prospecting organization should ask whether the cost per useful meeting is improved, not simply the cost per reveal. A $69 monthly subscription looks inexpensive until multiple contacts are invalid, out of territory or already suppressed. For a representative pilot, build a carefully scoped ICP list, reveal fifty appropriately permitted records, record validated contact rate, compare response results to the current data provider and estimate how many additional reveals the team actually needs. Do not treat a returned personal email as permission to send unsolicited marketing.
Security, privacy and terms that buyers should inspect
SignalHire's published terms identify the service as business-oriented and place data-law compliance on the customer. Its website has a privacy policy and profile opt-out controls; those need review alongside your organization's contract, jurisdiction and contact-purpose rules. Technical due diligence should include workspace permissions, employee offboarding, the removal of exported personal data when requested, and how external vendors are used. If you automate enrichment, confirm what data the API can store or return and which controls are available to restrict access and prevent over-collection.
Subscription terms are another important risk area. The vendor warns that plans may renew automatically and that the business-oriented packages are generally not refundable except in limited circumstances involving unauthorized activity. Cancellation avoids future billing but is not an automatic promise of a refund for unused prepaid credits. For annual plans, get a written confirmation of renewal and credit expiry provisions. When comparing competitors, annual-equivalent pricing should be treated as a committed amount rather than as a cancel-anytime monthly bill.

How Toollers evaluated this product
Testing methodology
Final verdict
SignalHire is worth evaluating if your recruiting or prospecting workflow is slowed by missing professional contact details. A searchable directory, in-browser reveal, lead organization, shared accounts and export options form a coherent sourcing toolkit. Its low-friction free credits and explicit paid base rates make the first budget estimate straightforward. The real buying decision, however, rests on which data type you need and how many usable contacts your own sample actually returns. An email-only subscription may be cost-effective for recruiter email outreach and unsuitable for a phone-led SDR operation.
Begin with a small target-profile sample and an agreed metric for a successful usable contact. Compare SignalHire against the current provider on the same list, measure effective cost per valid record, then check compliance, retention, team credit controls and cancellation terms before paying annually. For teams seeking extensive native sequences or richer account intelligence, evaluating Apollo or another integrated product in parallel is sensible. SignalHire can be useful as a discovery layer, but contact data should be validated and used responsibly, not treated as a guaranteed campaign outcome.
