Perplexity is an AI answer and research engine that retrieves online information and presents synthesized responses with links to sources. Its Free plan supports basic searches, history and limited file uploads; individual Pro expands source retrieval, preferred-model selection, research queries, uploads, image generation and tools that create documents or apps. Max offers higher usage of the advanced reasoning, Perplexity Computer and research tools. The Comet browser integrates an assistant into supported browsing workflows. Enterprise Pro and Enterprise Max add seat administration, internal file and application knowledge search and organizational security controls. The Perplexity API Platform is separately metered and is not automatically included in a personal Pro or Enterprise web seat. Perplexity labels its replies with citations, but a cited URL may not support every synthesized claim; source currency, contradictory findings, original author statements and sensitive data treatment need human inspection. Official enterprise billing help, updated July 2026, quotes Enterprise Pro at $40/user/month or $400/user/year and Enterprise Max at $325/user/month or $3,250/user/year. The live enterprise landing page rounds those annual equivalents to $34 and $271 respectively. Enterprise tiers explicitly promise that account data are not used for model training; personal Pro and Max require settings review for data-collection opt-out.
