Superchat Review: Features, Pricing & Our Verdict
Our evidence-based Superchat review covers WhatsApp, shared inbox, AI agents, plan costs and limitations. Learn who should use it and what to verify.

Verified multichannel inbox, automations, WhatsApp and AI agents; lower tiers cap seats and Advanced is needed for integrations.
Multiple G2/Capterra users describe efficient shared workflows, but 2026 complaints cover outages, support escalation and setup friction.
Public base and add-on prices are helpful, while a normal 12-month lock-in and usage-based charges complicate total cost.
Published integration guide and enterprise SSO options help, but API is Advanced-gated and independent security assurance was not audited.
Scored by Surabhi Singh
Superchat is a business messaging platform that brings WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook Messenger, Telegram, website live chat, email and SMS into a shared workspace. For a growing service or sales team, its central promise is that staff can respond, assign and automate customer conversations without losing context as messages arrive from different channels. The product also markets AI agents, WhatsApp newsletters and integrations. We think it is worth evaluating when fragmented inboxes slow down replies, but price and messaging policies deserve close inspection: a €0 free plan is limited, and Meta can charge separately for WhatsApp messages. This is a research-based review, not a hands-on Toollers test.

What is Superchat and who owns the platform?
The product evaluated here is Superchat at superchat.com, a customer-communication platform offered by Berlin-based SuperX GmbH. It should not be confused with similarly named consumer AI applications. Its positioning is customer engagement rather than a general-purpose CRM or full marketing automation suite: agents work from a unified inbox, marketers send appropriately consented WhatsApp campaigns, and business teams may connect customer information to other tools. The official channel matrix includes both social messaging services and conventional email and SMS, although actual activation and related channel costs should be confirmed for a particular account.
We do not use a guessed editorial rating or attribute testing to a person merely because Toollers already has several seeded author profiles.
A useful way to understand Superchat is to imagine a retailer whose customers ask product questions on Instagram, request delivery information over WhatsApp, and sometimes contact support by email. A shared inbox can give the team common assignment rules and internal notes instead of forcing employees to switch between separate applications. Whether a full customer record, automated routing and reporting work exactly as the retailer needs depends on the subscribed plan and setup. We would validate that operational flow in a demo before calling Superchat an effective replacement for a help desk or CRM.
Our research method and what we did not test
Testing methodology
The vendor’s product pages provide useful scope information, but a capability appearing on a marketing page is not direct evidence of reliability, latency, deliverability or customer success. Our feature descriptions therefore say what Superchat advertises and identify the checks a buyer should perform. Third-party review listings can change quickly and product names are not always uniquely identifiable; we do not turn unverified user comments into a false review-site consensus.

One shared inbox across messaging channels
The strongest reason to consider Superchat is the ability to put several incoming customer channels into one operational queue. A service manager can review ownership, while representatives use notes or labels to coordinate the next action. This can help when someone begins with an Instagram inquiry and later sends a WhatsApp message, although a buyer must test how identities are matched and whether cross-channel context is preserved automatically. The product lists unified inbox functionality on its pricing matrix. Specific permissions, assignment automation and reporting depth should be verified in the applicable subscription.
In a trial, we would create three employees and two sample conversations: one sales lead whose question should be assigned to a specialist and one existing customer whose issue requires follow-up. Test internal comments, reassignment, mobile access, conversation search and supervisor visibility. Record whether any channel requires additional Meta or third-party authorization and whether separate social accounts can be connected concurrently. These tasks are a proposed evaluation plan, not tests Toollers has already performed. A nice interface screenshot cannot substitute for proof that agents can resolve a busy queue with low friction.
WhatsApp Business API and campaign messaging
Superchat’s WhatsApp channel supports customer conversations, templates and newsletter-style outreach. That brings the familiar WhatsApp channel into a business system with teams and auditability, but it is not a license to message any collected phone number. Businesses must meet consent, WhatsApp template and platform requirements; template availability or message delivery may be affected by account status and recipient geography.
There is an important cost change to account for. Effective October 1, 2026, Meta charges for customer-service replies beyond the first 1,000 service messages per WhatsApp number in a month, including messages sent during the 24-hour service window. Template messages can carry separate fees even inside that window. Incoming customer messages remain free under the vendor’s update. Superchat says it passes Meta’s charges through without markup and applies included paid-plan bonuses first. That changes the economics of frequent, short agent replies and is material to our pricing verdict.
Automations for routing and repeated questions
The official plan table makes automation capacity an explicit buying variable: Free lists one automation, Basic two, Professional six and Advanced twelve. A basic workflow may send an acknowledgement, assign a contact or route a lead by inquiry type. More complex businesses may want multiple pathways, exception handling and a route to a human agent; simply buying a larger automation allowance does not prove those branching or integration requirements are supported. In a demonstration, ask to show an error condition, a duplicate contact and a handoff to a staff member with prior context intact.
Automation designers should also count the number of WhatsApp messages their flows send. A welcome message, reminder, clarification and follow-up might each create a billable service reply once the free allowance is exhausted, and outbound templates are billed under their own rules. Consolidating messages improves the customer experience and can help contain costs. Define a reasonable contact frequency, opt-out behavior, fallback when an API fails and a review process for changing message copy. Those controls matter more than the raw number of automations on a feature comparison chart.
AI agents and AI Copilot
Superchat lists one AI agent in Professional and three in Advanced, while Custom supports tailored configurations. The vendor also offers AI Copilot as an add-on on eligible plans. These are separate concepts: an AI agent may answer or process customer requests; a Copilot can assist staff with composition or context. The published matrix does not justify claiming that an unlimited number of agents is included in Basic or that all AI credit usage is free. The tiers list 7,000 credits for Professional and 25,000 for Advanced, with plan and add-on limits to confirm.
Our recommended AI pilot uses a controlled knowledge base of shipping policies, store hours, appointment changes and refund boundaries. Submit ordinary questions, ambiguous questions and a request involving sensitive personal information. Score whether the system cites the right policy, asks for clarification, escalates uncertainty and avoids promising unsupported exceptions. A team should retain human review for financial disputes, legal issues or regulated advice. We have no independently measured answer-accuracy or resolution-rate dataset for Superchat, so we do not assign the feature a numerical performance grade.
WhatsApp newsletters and audience management
The plan matrix includes a small newsletter reach allowance: 30 on Free and 100 on the paid tiers shown, with expansion offered as an add-on. That is different from unlimited contacts in the Basic and higher inbox plans. A buyer can hold many contact records or conversations but still face a separate reach or message allowance for campaigns. Check exactly how newsletter reach is counted, how failed sends or opt-outs affect it, and whether approved templates carry Meta charges in addition to the platform add-on. A high-volume marketer should request a monthly sending forecast.
Campaign performance is useful only if a team can connect messages to consent, response and follow-through. The vendor advertises tracking and analytics capabilities, but the full reporting suite is highlighted on Advanced. If marketing attribution dominates the purchase, compare dedicated automation products as well.
Integrations, developer API and data transfer
Superchat references integrations with tools such as Zapier, Make and HubSpot, along with its developer API. The API documentation covers sending supported message formats and interacting with business communication workflows. However, the pricing page explicitly highlights integrations as included at the Advanced tier, so buyers should ask whether the exact connector, webhooks, API access and automation actions are available on lower tiers or require an upgrade. Documentation is evidence that an API exists; it does not establish that every customer’s CRM object model can be synchronized without custom work.
We would test integration with an anonymized lead that enters a chat, is assigned to sales, updates a CRM field and triggers a follow-up only after consent. Inspect what happens when an update fails, a user deletes a contact or a conversation changes owner. Confirm field mapping, data retention, rate limits, regional hosting and credential permissions. Businesses connecting marketing and support systems should avoid blindly duplicating private customer conversations into analytics services. A short technical pilot is inexpensive compared with repairing wrong contact ownership after a full migration.
Reports, security and administrative controls
Advanced prominently includes analytics, priority support, personal account management and employee training. Custom advertises SAML-based single sign-on, SCIM provisioning, mandatory two-factor authentication, Trust Center access and individual service-level agreements. Those are meaningful enterprise buying criteria, but their placement in the Custom tier is a warning not to assume every control is included at €89. A security review should verify encryption and hosting arrangements through the vendor’s actual documentation and signed data-processing agreement rather than treating a marketing reference to GDPR compliance as a certification.
For regulated or high-volume teams, ask how roles restrict customer exports, how offboarded staff are disabled, which administrators can view chats, and whether conversations and AI-generated answers are logged. Require the vendor to document deletion, data subject requests and incident notification. If a purchaser needs SSO, SCIM or a negotiated SLA from day one, its true comparable Superchat plan may be Custom, not Advanced. We did not independently inspect security controls or conduct a penetration test, and we do not imply that access to a Trust Center is equivalent to verifying every security claim.
How much does Superchat cost?
| Plan | Public monthly price | Annual-billing equivalent | Key limits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | €0 | €0 | 1 employee, 1 WhatsApp number, 30 active contacts, 1 automation, 500 credits |
| Basic | €89 | Annual discount not verified | 3 employees, 1 number, 2 automations, 1,500 credits, €20 Meta bonus |
| Professional | €149 | Annual discount not verified | 6 employees, 2 numbers, 1 AI agent, 6 automations, 7,000 credits, €50 bonus |
| Advanced | €299 | Annual discount not verified | 12 employees, 4 numbers, 3 AI agents, 12 automations, 25,000 credits, €80 bonus |
| Custom | Contact sales | Contact sales; billed annually | Negotiated seats, security and support |
All displayed euro prices are vendor list amounts before tax and usage charges. The official site has Monthly and Annually toggles, but we do not publish an annual discount figure that we could not independently confirm from the retrieved state. Crucially, the vendor describes a minimum contract duration of twelve months across plans unless otherwise agreed. Paying monthly is therefore not necessarily a cancellable month-to-month subscription. Optional seats, numbers, newsletters, AI components and credits can raise the invoice. We advise getting a dated checkout quote with the billing term and expected WhatsApp message mix.
For example, a four-person business may exceed Basic’s three included employee accounts and need an extra user at the published €19 monthly add-on rate, or step up to Professional to obtain a six-seat bundle and an AI agent. A second WhatsApp number costs extra under Basic unless the buyer chooses a higher plan. A company with heavy WhatsApp campaigns must separately model templates and service-message charges by destination country. This is why the correct comparison is the full annual cost of the required configuration, not just the bold monthly headline on the pricing card.
Strengths, drawbacks and buyer fit
Pros
- Broad official channel coverage in one inbox
- Clearly listed employee and WhatsApp-number allowances
- Free plan enables a low-volume start
- Professional and Advanced include AI agents
- Automation and newsletter capabilities can support sales and service
- Advanced and Custom offer deeper administrative options
Cons
- Free plan permits only 30 monthly active contacts
- AI agents and integrations are gated by plan
- Meta WhatsApp service and template charges add variable cost
- Additional seats, numbers and campaign reach cost extra
- Twelve-month minimum commitment limits short-term flexibility
- Security and SSO controls may require Custom
The most attractive advantage is organizational consistency: one team can see and route messages instead of maintaining separate inbox habits for each channel. The biggest tradeoff is that an organization with several users, multiple WhatsApp lines and an appetite for automation quickly leaves the Free tier. Plan gates then matter as much as feature availability. We would favor Superchat over a pure Instagram automation product for a service team that needs email, live chat and WhatsApp in the same queue, but this is a use-case inference from vendor documentation, not a measured product win.
Who should use this
- Sales and service teams managing WhatsApp alongside social and email messaging
- Small firms that can begin with one user and 30 active contacts
- Growing teams needing assignment and automation
- Businesses prepared to manage opt-in and Meta message fees
- Organizations willing to contract for advanced integration or AI requirements
Who should avoid this
- Teams requiring a fully free unlimited-contact inbox
- Buyers unwilling to commit to the published minimum term
- Companies expecting AI agents on the Free or Basic plans
- Regulated teams that need Custom security features at entry-tier prices
- Businesses seeking CRM deal management or full ticketing without validating integrations
Editorial rating and confidence
We have not received the live Product 20172 score, rating criteria, assigned reviewer or dated testing evidence. A third-party average or an invented percentage would misrepresent our methodology. We likewise avoid treating the vendor’s customer count or performance examples as a verified return on investment for an individual buyer.
Expert tip
Which Superchat alternatives deserve a look?
Wati is worth comparing for WhatsApp-centric outreach; respond.io for workflow-heavy omnichannel sales; Trengo for a structured shared inbox; SleekFlow for social commerce; Manychat for Instagram-oriented direct-message marketing; and Intercom for AI-assisted customer support. Rather than risk broken internal links, we refer to their official sites in the source section. They should be evaluated against your specific channel mix, not declared universally better or cheaper from unrelated pricing units.
Final verdict: is Superchat worth it?
Superchat makes the most sense when WhatsApp is a serious customer-service or sales channel and the company also needs a coordinated inbox for social, email and website conversations. Its plan matrix is reasonably informative about employee access, numbers, automations and AI availability, which helps with an initial shortlist. But the final choice hinges on how often your team replies on WhatsApp, which paid add-ons it needs, whether the twelve-month contract fits your procurement policies and how well its inbox integrates with your existing systems. We would request a real workflow demonstration and a complete annual quotation before recommending deployment.
