Atera
RMM, ticketing and IT automation billed by technician with unlimited endpoints
Official RMM, help desk, patching, remote tools, script automation and bundled AI Copilot cover typical MSP workflow, though OS and reports vary by tier.
Broad independent Atera customer sample supports all-in-one accessibility with some trouble on remote workflows, reporting and onboarding.
Official per-technician MSP annual/monthly plans and unlimited endpoints are transparent; add-ons and distinct IT rates complicate apples-to-apples TCO.
Accounting/remoting integrations and vendor SOC/ISO security claims are documented but edition boundaries, audit access and independent attestation scope remain unchecked.

About Atera
Atera is an integrated cloud IT operations suite for managed service providers and internal IT teams. It combines remote monitoring and management with ticketing/help desk, alerts, patch automation, scripting, remote access, reporting and optional network/security add-ons. Rather than metering each endpoint, current public MSP plans charge by technician and advertise unlimited devices: Pro $129, Growth $159 and Power $209 per technician per month on annual billing, versus $139, $189 and $249 respectively on monthly billing. The internal IT department plans are different and start at $149/technician/month when billed annually. A 30-day trial is available. MSP Pro is Windows-focused; macOS/Linux coverage and other functionality are tier-dependent, so the cheapest plan is not an all-platform baseline. AI Copilot is included with all current plans but separate autonomous AI and discovery products may cost extra. G2 and Capterra reviewers praise broad coverage and predictable endpoint economics while noting learning curve, platform limits and technical edge cases.
Best for
Cost-conscious MSPs and internal IT teams with many devices per technician that want monitoring, patching, remote access and a help desk in one subscription.
Atera pros and cons
Pros
- Per-technician pricing with unlimited endpoints provides understandable economics when each technician supports many devices.
- RMM, ticketing/PSA-like service workflows, script automation and remote desktop tools are bundled in core plans.
- Official MSP and internal IT price grids publish both annual-commitment and month-to-month USD rates.
- AI Copilot has been included across current plans since June 2026; 30-day no-credit-card trial supports workflow evaluation.
- G2 and Capterra reviews generally praise all-in-one management and consolidating device/ticket context.
Cons
- −The entry MSP Pro plan is Windows-focused; macOS and Linux device support appears in higher tiers.
- −Network discovery, advanced security, additional remote tools and other optional modules may create extra per-tech or per-user charges.
- −Automated remediation and help-desk workflows take setup; some reviewers describe reporting or remote-session limitations.
- −MSP and internal IT price lists differ; a buyer must not assume the $129 MSP entry rate applies to corporate IT plans.
- −Distinct AI Copilot versus Robin/autonomous AI packaging needs clarification before attributing agentic automation to the base subscription.
