Talkwalker
Enterprise social listening, media monitoring, competitive intelligence and AI brand-mention analysis.
Current official plan descriptions confirm wide social and media monitoring, AI-powered audience research, sentiment, alerts and advanced coverage across several paid tiers.
Exact-product G2/Capterra feedback describes strong insight depth alongside enterprise setup and reporting complexity; Toollers has not used an actual account.
Vendor specifies Core, Analyze and Business entitlements but provides no verifiable public currency amounts or standard contract terms, limiting cost comparison.
Documented Hootsuite Social OS relationship, visual/media sources and reporting APIs offer enterprise workflows, but buyer-specific data, access controls and integrations remain untested.

About Talkwalker
Talkwalker, currently marketed as Lumen by Talkwalker within Hootsuite Social OS, gives marketing, communications and research teams visibility into public conversations across social media, news, blogs, forums and other digital channels. Its intelligence suite includes real-time alerts, conversation and audience analytics, sentiment/visual analysis, market and competitor tracking, customizable dashboards and increasingly AI-oriented visibility. The public site offers Core, Analyze and Business plans on a request-a-quote basis. It should not be mistaken for a low-cost social post scheduler: publishing workflows belong to connected social management systems and depend on subscribed products.
Best for
Enterprise brand, PR, reputation and consumer-insight teams that need to understand large volumes of public social/media discussion.
Talkwalker pros and cons
Pros
- Core includes always-on topic/channel analytics, custom reports and mention alerts in the published package description.
- Vendor describes AI summaries, trend detection, AI-agent questions and monitoring of answers from AI assistants.
- Social, earned-media, image and audio mention signals help teams follow brand exposure beyond tagged social posts.
- The plan table advertises unlimited users even at Core, though volume and topic entitlements still differ by tier.
- Current exact-match G2 and Capterra feedback generally credits broad coverage and the depth of social listening insights.
Cons
- −No official public monthly or annual amount is available; a custom quotation is needed to understand the full contract cost.
- −Analyze and Business expand topic/channel slots and non-sampled results substantially, so Core may not suit large listening requirements.
- −A listening/monitoring purchase is not equivalent to a complete social scheduling, publishing or customer-support platform.
- −Sentiment, image recognition and AI-generated summaries must be checked in relevant languages and industries; no Toollers validation exists.
- −Enterprise deployment requires source/channel permissions, search-topic configuration, alert tuning and stakeholder training.
