BUSY Accounting
Indian accounting, GST and inventory across perpetual and subscription editions
Official suite includes rich GST, accounting, warehouse and branch workflows, but features differ significantly by product family.
Reviewers praise usable accounting depth but report a dated UI, learning curve, slow large reports and mixed support; no Toollers pilot.
Many published prices and BLS/Online details are available, yet multi-family license, renewal and hosting add-ons complicate TCO.
GST, migration and hosting pathways are documented, but cloud access is an add-on and independent security assurances were not reviewed.

About BUSY Accounting
BUSY Accounting is an India-oriented suite covering business ledgers, invoicing, stock, GST compliance, reports and selected production/branch workflows. Its official site distinguishes BUSY 21's perpetual Express, Basic, Standard and Enterprise editions from newer subscription-only BUSY Magic Start, Smart, Power and Power+ subscriptions. A free 15-day trial and no-cost Express tier are offered, while BLS support renewals, connected GST functions, mobile access and optional BUSY Online cloud hosting create additional costs. The correct edition matters as much as the initial quoted amount.
Best for
Indian wholesalers, retailers, distributors, manufacturers and accountants needing GST-ready bookkeeping, inventory, multi-godown and flexible branch processes.
BUSY Accounting pros and cons
Pros
- Strong India-specific GST, billing, inventory and financial-reporting feature set, with advanced tiers offering multiple GSTIN and branch support.
- The official site clearly separates lifetime BUSY 21 licenses from BUSY Magic 360-day plans and publishes support renewal terms.
- Free Express and a 15-day trial enable introductory evaluation; BUSY Magic Start is a relatively low published paid entry point.
- Inventory controls include multiple godowns, batches, units and product parameters, with broader production/BOM in qualified tiers.
- G2 and Capterra reviewers regularly cite the usefulness of accounting, GST, inventory and reporting in daily operations.
Cons
- −BUSY 21 versus Magic, plus Online/SQL/Access and BLS options, complicate the total cost; some connected features stop without active renewal.
- −BUSY Magic switches to demo mode when a subscription expires; perpetual BUSY 21 continues without support/services after BLS expiry.
- −Some 2026 reviewers criticize an aging interface, large-report sluggishness, support consistency and training requirements.
- −Full cloud hosting, mobile renewal and additional companies/users can be paid extras; entry license alone does not represent annual TCO.
- −Some advanced Magic features are explicitly marked upcoming, so they cannot be presented as currently available.
